Default What to do

I've bought a new car. Nice little TDi 130.

But I still need to sell my old GTi-6.

I was going to transfer my insurance over to the new car, but a guy at work said that if I do that, any people who come to look at the car won't be able to test drive the car. A car needs to be insured in someones name for third party on other vehicles to be valid on that car.

so do i stick with my old car till it sold? or is there something else i can do?

Two options really

1) a) Cancel current insurance and take out new insurance for the new vehicle using any no claims discount from the old car b) Take out temporary insurance (eg, month a a time) for the old car you're selling. This is what A-Plan did for me.

2) a) Keep existing insurance on the old car b) Take out new insurance on the new car. Then cancel the old policy when you've sold the car.

I did option 1 because it was easier to handle the no claims discount
