It's only £5900 FFS http://bbs.scoobynet.com/immaculate-cbr1000rr-blue-t520750.html Matt Duck_Pond 02 August 2006, 15:25 :lol1: I thought you'd sold that ages ago. Maybe you could open up in competition with that singed place off of the NEC island by the M42? :D Nathan L 02 August 2006, 15:58 Mate, if I could have afforded the insurance I would have bought it. graham22 02 August 2006, 17:12 Things just aren't selling, have my GSXR1000K2 up for £4500 but nothing, yet dealers in this part of the country have them up for £5k+ and they can shift them. I think the price range is a little too high for a cash buyer, if someone is looking for finance then that where the dealer scores. Best of luck with the sale. MattOz 03 August 2006, 09:36 I know what you're saying Graham. A dealer would have my Blade up at £6895. I can't understand why people take finance out when a personal loan is usually cheaper and has a better rate. Still, I've had loads of interest since I dropped it below the psychological £6k barrier, so we'll see what the weekend brings. :) Good luck with yours. Cheers Matt jameswrx 03 August 2006, 13:59 The reason dealers can shift them is because they take the px the customer can't shift themselves. As long as the dealer gets a good deal he's happy to just move the bike on for another and cash. Have you thought about taking a px? I understand it's not the ideal scenario but if you are wise enough with it then you can take something cheaper plus cash (enough cash to allow you to sell the px cheap on ebay) Andrew O'Hara 03 August 2006, 15:12 Have you thought about taking a px? Hope you shift it soon matey. Duck_Pond 03 August 2006, 16:32 All vehicle sales guides need to be recategorised so that there's: Poor Condition Average Condition Good Condition A1 Condition MattOz Condition to help advise the buyer better :) graham22 03 August 2006, 16:42 Got to remember advertising costs, by the time you've done a couple of weeks in the Autotrader, a couple in the local paper etc it's £200 gone, an amount you could have dropped the price by in the first place - I'd rather drop £200 on the price & make the buyer happy instead of 'wasting' it on advertising. Personally I hate the buying/selling scenario but haven't got funds to take a low p/x from a dealer (especially when they can drop the top line even more for no trade-in, my situ is the bike I want is £7450, the dealer will allow £4400 p/x, if I buy outright he can drop the price to £6895 do your sums- he's allowing £3845 really). ARRON BIRD 05 August 2006, 11:28 Matt I`ll give ya a grand for it ?? Seriously this bike is better than new condition!!! And I have never ridden it so you know its never been abused ;) DCI Gene Hunt 05 August 2006, 11:48 Bad time of year to sell...... looks like you may be stuck with it till next year and then it will be worth even less..........:( Nice to see all the other 'bikers' taking the piss though  Bravo2zero_sps 05 August 2006, 13:48 The time of year isn't that relevant, bikes sell all year round as the market is kept going by the end of season through to start of the new season sales of this years bikes that need to get shifted. The main factor is trade ins and getting rid of your existing bike, thats why I bought my blade from a dealer because I could get rid of my gixer through them where as privately i'd have struggled selling a 40k+ 6 year old gixer. A lot of people don't want the hassle of a private sale, the cost of advertising for weeks, the test pilots who want to turn up and thrash your pride and joy with no intention of buying it, the losers who say they'll turn up to look at it but never do. These reasons are enough for a lot of people to take the hit on the trade in/dealer price just to avoid weeks of hassle. Shark Man 05 August 2006, 16:55 Fireblade...common as muck :D Now if it was an RG500 or a H2 Kwak I may have bit your hand off (although my limit is £4K  ) slim_boy_fat 07 August 2006, 13:13 The time of year isn't that relevant, bikes sell all year round as the market is kept going by the end of season through to start of the new season sales of this years bikes that need to get shifted. Thats exactly the issue, i am looking to get a blade, currently ride a firestorm, I would rather just do a trade-in at a dealer, no hassel no test pilots and sometimes pretty good finance deals for the balance. I just dont have the time or energy to advertise and fend off the 100 bogus time waster calls. You bike is mint, just a matter of hanging on till the right person. Good luck the bike is a minter and will sell. 7 Foot 30 August 2006, 18:44 Small world innit! http://www.visordown.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281907 :D MattOz 31 August 2006, 09:53 LOL :D Mark's a nice chap.
