Thinking about getting ppp and was wondering how hard my premium would be hit. Currently paying 495 for my STI with A-Plan.

A lot of insurance companies now recognise PPP as a dealer fit item. Listed as WRX STI UK (301), so premium doesn't jump as much as saying standard with Aftermarket tuning, like I had to on my first year.

First years payed £1250 (Standard with PPP added) + 18" alloys & spring kit
This year £750 (STI 301) + 18" alloys & spring kit.

If my car was totally standard I'd be getting quotes of £500-£600.

Hope this helps

I had an '05 STI with PPP, 18's, sti splitter, prodrive springs and tints. Told insurance company (Direct Line) who informed me there would be no increase as all were 'factory' fitted (by dealer) from new.

Just insured with Priviledge online and got a very good quote. They recognised my 2005MY PPP. :)

Been trying to get quotes on an MY03 WRX with the PPP package. Most insurance companies won't accept this as a dealer fit Item - they consider it a performance upgrade and thus your premium goes up !!

The 2005 STI PPP is different as the dealer fitted this as a standard fit item for a period - many insurers (elephant/admiral/bell) have this listed specifically as it was fitted before the car was picked up by the buyer etc.

Makes buying a 2005 STI with PPP a sensible insurance issue.

:cuckoo: I have an 02 STi, and my insurance is £80 more because I haven`t got PPP. Where is the sense in that?
