I have just bought the Fuji a500 finepix czamera from Jessops for £89.

Its a great digital camera if you just want to point at something at snap away :)

Its 5.1 mega pixel and has optical and digital zoom.

All in all a great buy for the money.

Depends on what you are looking for really -- the word "decent" doesn't really tell us a lot about what you are after - a point and shoot, s/h DSLR (maybe need to add a bit to your budget though). What sort of applications - generally family snaps, motorsports, or something where you need more control rather than just setting it on auto and letting it do it's thing?

Anyway, for a comparison by price you could do worse than looking at Steve's digicams (http://steves-digicams.pgpartner.com/search_attrib.php/page_id=48//) (also does camcorders) or dpreview.com

oops forgot to say it will be only mainly for people (no scenary or anything else)
so it must be sharp colour etc
