I spent 4 days last week down at the European Kayak Freestlye Championships in Nottingham (it's what I do away from the car / photography / work etc, so seemed like a good idea to spend a few days out in the sun)
If you are interested, I've uploaded the photos to the web (they are all there at the moment for speed - I still need to sort them out properly).
They can be found at www.bigpphotos.co.uk (http://www.bigpphotos.co.uk), I'm always interested in your comments, good or bad, please have a look and tell me what you think - especially if something looks particularly good / bad.
Cheers,
Paul

Very nice.
I like this one especially.

A good selection of shots, maybe a bit too many for people to look through as a general browse.
Maybe choose your 5 best and post them in the thread for C&C.
Although saying that I always have a tough time choosing after being to a rally etc. I may take on average a 1000 ish shots at a rally but only try to put a max of 100 on my website per event, and then only say 10 ish max on here for people to C&C.
May I ask what they are all trying to do at the base of the "water slope". It looks like they are all trying to do a 360 head first into the water?

Some wicked shots in there.
Do you get a lot of reflection from the water?

Springbok, I know there is loads and too many for people here, I just got them there as quickly as I could for the kayakers and national European teams to view. I took a total of about 2600 in 4 days there.
Many are shots of them 'looping' - esentially it involves an airbourne forwards roll in the hole (the bit at the bottom of the "water slope"). There are also alot of "cartwheels" which is the boat rotating on its side through the water, so like the hands on a clock around the paddler. Does that make sense?
Darren, they are all straight from the camera so the only reflections are what you see.. the only filter involved is a UV one to keep water off the lens glass.
Thanks for looking and your feedback guys.

Shaggy,
It looks like such a cool sport to shoot.
If you don't mind me asking, are you selling to the kayakers\teams? If so, what are you using to deal with your prints, orders etc?
I appreciate it you would rather not talk about it though.

Darren, it is a cool sport to shoot, even better to participate in :D:D:D What made the Euros last week sooo cool was having the best paddlers in Europe paddle just 5 mins on cycle from my front door abd for 4 days there were about 28-30 degrees and sunny all day. I had nothing better do to that shoot photos and enjoy a couple of cool beers.
I'm trying to drum some interest in them, yes - I'm looking several avenues at the moment. Do you want to drop me a PM / mail as per profile, and I'll happily try to answer your questions.

Great pictures paul -
quick note though if you are trying to sell prints \ copies etc it is very easy to harvest those images off your site - so for small prints people can help themselves.
Have you put hidden watermarks (excuse the pun) in - may be best to put more overt ones so people have to come to you for copies.

Good idea Dave, I may try that tonight. I guess they need to be quite opaque so I can do them in batch, otherwise will be a pain to do them all individually.
