Default WTF is up with Henry

The guy has been letting himself down recently, first off we had the aftermath of the champs league final in Paris and now last night and all he will say is "you should ask yourself what was Puyol doing, all I felt was a shoulder".

Not in your face you didn't !!

Pathetic, the guy has been playing english football for a long time now, was really hoping he would know better. Saying that though he got Puyol booked and won a free kick. Its become part of a great game thats being let down by the proffessionals

I'm not a great fan of Henry, purely because he tends to hide in big games, but I thought he, if anyone, would rise above the whole diving saga.

Saying that though he got Puyol booked and won a free kick
Which led to a goal making it 2 - 1 from Viera who prior to this managed to stick his hand into Torre's face while on a Yellow and get away with it.
The Henry incident was just shameful - for a player who is supposed to be a model professional to 'fall down' like a sack of ****e holding his face when he wasn't even touched is joke - he made himself look a sore loser with what he said after losing the champions league final without this latest episode!

Cheers

He should be banned for that behaviour

Players have been sent off and subsequently missed games in this world cup for less

You would expect more from him seeing as he helped front the Joga Bonito 'stop cheats' campaign ran by Nike prior to the tournament starting

Imagine if Rooney or Beckham had done that, trying to get one of the big influencial centre halfs sent off by play acting. The press, media, and more importantly FIFA would have babies about it. And likely ban them or fine them

On the world stage with such talent there is no excuse for behaviour like that. He was'nt even man enough to apologise after the game and say he was wrong. Instead he tried to cover it up. What a player

Gone right down im my estimations of him after last night

Puyol ran straight across Henry's path. If you saw the wider camera shot you can see Puyol is not running towards the ball, but is blatantly blocking Henry. Sorry, but that's a free-kick.

The acting Henry did wasn't right and he should have been booked for that.

We're discussing the play acting / cheating call it what you like, and the subsequent bull**** that Henry has spouted, no one doubts it was a foul by Puyol.

They're all at it. Haven't seen a team yet that didn't have one player try and do more than just ride a tackle or rub it off and get straight up. If they can roll about or grimace to try and sway the ref, then they'll all have a go to some extent or other.

Henry has been a bit of a whinging tw@t recently though.

I was surprised at Henry after the Champions League final and felt it was really bad sportsmanship. The incident with Puyol has not covered him in glory either. Could have been a foul anyway but the play acting was bad.

Under pressure maybe?

Basically he can't stand Puyol because of the way he was kicked all round the park in the CL final.

The incedent was a free kick anyway - the ref IMO wasn't influenced by Henry's acting, otherwise the card would have been red. The play acting wasn't justified, but lets face it, Henry doesn't do stuff like that - I think his actions were personal and not typical IYSWIM - still out of order though!

Two minutes in - you'll see again just how shocking it is.

Personally (as a defender), I think Puyol had every right to do what he did, i.e. get his body in between the ball and Henry.

If you watch it again, you'll see he hardly deviates from his original path to the ball/to cover, and it's more Henry who goes in to the back of him - he knew exactly how to gain the free kick.

Its 50/50, you could argue Puyol was adjusting his positioning for approaching the ball so he would be facing the right direction rather than being put under more pressure by Henry in a more dangerous angle, the otherside is he did do it on purpose, its annoying though because if Puyol did that to watch the ball off the pitch for a goal kick it would have been fine...

What annoys me most is that the people who can do something about it, the refs, just arent following through on FIFA's promises. Players are walking around diving and gesturing to get other players booked yet no action is taken against them.

Simon.

g-star - it was a foul, everyone seems to think so.

as a gooner I'm very disappointed by his behavior. when he comes back to the prem he'll be an honest player again, as he has been for years, because I think he sees english football as honest and so he plays the same way (and deep down wants to). however (wrongly in my opinion), i think he feels that if they (spain/barca/puyol/eurpean footballers) are going to do all the cheating things then he's going to join in a stick one to him/them, a) for puyol and his kicking campaign in cl final, and b)for arragones and his racist comments

I don't know if you saw the game Ted but when Vieira scored the monkey chants started up from the Spanish, which is f*cking appaulling IMO, Vieira gave the Shush finger to the lips towards the Spanish supporters, Aragones appeared to take offence to this and was soon up on his feet, I have no idea if Vieira was aiming the silencing finger tio Aragones as well but the Ref came over and told him to sit down, well done Paddy !!

Aragones is another example of Fifa being run by people whio checked out of reality 20 years ago, he should have been hit hard for his Henry comments and gets away with it.

Tbh as a Man Utd fan I was pretty embarrased at Heinzes behaviour today after they lost on penalties.

Its gotta be hard for the more honest players to keep being honest when time and time again they see other players/teams getting free kicks from nothing just because they go down like a sack of sh*t. How many times do you see it when a player rides a bad tackle and loses posession i.e doesnt make a meal of it and the ref just lets the game go on.

After hearing the highlight commentary on the BBC, I don't think Heinze was the catalyst.

If you know the facts, please enlighten me.
