When giving it some around a corner is tyre squeel a good sign or not..? (ie is it indicative of how well, or not, a tyre is working).
Do RE070's squeel when working optimally in the dry..?
Cheers,
Jason;)
Tyre squeel is commonly caused by the tread blocks moving on the road under duress.
I had some Yoko 590's on my 911 some years back and they were crazy; squeeled everywhere.
Replaced with Bridgstone SO2's and they were quiet at the same speeds/corners.
Generally, the bigger the tread block size the quieter, ie racing slicks are surprisingly noise-free!
Here are my Kumho semi slicks under presssure. (They are totaly noise free on the road too.)

Hi Graham, very quiet those Kumho's..! The Toyo T1R's I have on only really 'chiiiiirrrrrrrrrp' quietly when right on the limit, which is good in a way I suppose.
How's the season going..?

I thought tyre squeel occured when tyres were working at their optimum grip!!?
Season going well, but the EVO is quicker!
The squeels and chirping etc much depends on the surface too.
Remember the American films when tyres squeel in the car lots etc etc?
The Kumhos squeel only on certain hill climbs, not all! (and I do try hard..)

Bloody Evo's..!;)
lol, I remember in 'Bullit' I think it was, where there's a car chase along the beach and the tyres were squealing on the sand..!:lol1:
My93WRX; That's what I've been thinking, just wondered if it was actually the case..?
I can't get my tires to squeel at all! Abit when I do launch starts pulling onto a main road, but not even 1/8th as much as my old FWD zetec!
