Yes its true,the standard kit in the my01 is pants,what I'm after is a cover to replace the standard 2-Din set up & install my standard head unit in,some other manufacturers supply these with a little hole underneath for putting your usual junk in,this would be ideal.
I've asked at my local dealer & was greated with the usual reply, 'There should have been a radio supplied with the car',Hmmmmmm I give up http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Autoleads are the main manufacture in the UK for supplying indash surrounds.
(Facia Adaptors)

They cover virtually ever vehicle, dont know
if they have one yet for the MY01 but best bet is to give em a call.

There may be a standard double din to single din converter that they have already - definitely worth a try...

I contacted Autoleads about a converter box for my UK MY01 to enable me to connect remote and phono amp leads and they said that as yet, they do not have such a converter for the head unit in the car, but it will be looked into.

Oops forgot to say that they said that nothing for MY01 Impreza's had been done yet, but it was in the plans.......

I have found out today that a company i think called Motalec make a mounting plate for double height stereo holes where a single height unit fits in the middle of the mounting plate. Will mail more details when i have them.
