Considering replacing the std kit that comes in an 06 Sti - possibly spending 300-400, the less the better :-)

Any recommendations for replacing audio on that budget ?

I'm ok with a bit of DIY as long as the risk of breaking something isn't too great. not bothered about MP3,WMA and so on. CD / Radio is fine........
Figure on doing some myself due to fitting costs eating into the budget.

Martin.

FAQ - ta - Fitting guides are great - looks like I'll be doing the fitting.

PSI3 - checked your site - no details on it as yet - you got any recommendations for decent replacement HU and front spkrs ?

Currently thinking a single DIN CD/Tuner and a Forester glove box, replace both front in-door speakers.
Just which makes now, so suggestions welcome :)

Rainbow seem well respected and have a good entry level set, Focal have some that are easy to fit... There's lots and lots: I'd recommend spending a few minutes on TalkAudio.co.uk and seeing what sort of things people are using there for your budget.
Also, don't immediately discount the idea of buying second hand: you can get cracking kit for not much money, again TalkAudio is a good source.

Browsing talkaudio as we speak - thanks for that tip.
Will take a peek at the rainbow speakers, and if I can get a decent HU with entry rainbows, then I may stick with that.
