Boro fans were doing their country proud in Eindhoven today according to pictures I saw on the Dutch news this evening. They've been good as gold. :thumb:
The Spanish boys were much better singers though...

We were beaten by the better side on the night.

No shame in getting to the final of a European Cup.

I'm proud to be a Boro Lad!! :D

The England manager job is NOT the same as a normal team manager. He's more a coach type person. After all, the england manager can't buy in his talent from overseas like all the premiership big boys do, he makes do with what he's got and gets the best out of them, which is why Mclaren has the job.

Now we have a loser as England manager....great

You've always had a loser as England Manager ... except once, 40yrs ago.

Don't just blame the Manager when the players are mediocre.

I was disappointed that Boro lost, but like many teams before them they failed to play well enough on the night. They squandered golden oppertunities and eventually lost against a much better side that knew how to play.

Manager had no option but to throw caution to the wind near the end. It nearly paid off, but the strikers missed far too many chances.

Cup Finals are littered with teams that missed chances. Miss too many and it usually ends in tears. A lesson (hopefully) learned by the players.

I'm gutted that Boro lost last night by Sevilla who were the better team by far and our tactics were rubbish.

However, on the subject of McLaren being a loser............WTF. He has taken Boro to the finals of the UEFA cup in the second year of being in Europe. He won our first peice of silverware..........We gave Chelsea the biggest spanking of Jose Morinio's charge.

Why are we being typically English by saying he's a loser, FFS look on the bright side of things and give him the support that an England manager deserves [Sven or no Sven].

Anyway I feel I need to fade back into the smog.

Rant over

Roo :(

I do wish him well, I really hope he takes the team forward.

But, I just have reservations about a man who's best finish in the premiership is 11th place.

But maybe a guy who can achieve cup success is a good bet....who knows, only time will tell.

Can't do any worse than all the past England Managers. Since 1966, England haven't won any World or European trophies as far as I'm aware.

Glen Hoddle won a trophy with England.

Le tounet - or something like that,

It was a mini summer tournament with Italy, France, Brazil and us.

Thats a loser??

I think Pete meant to say, "That's a tosser..." And of course, McClaren is - sadly for England. :(
