Sorry Chaps

I have called it a DAY.....

I have been spectating on the RAC since 1986 for every year until last year, when the dozzy gits decided to start charging admission.

I don't mind paying to get in to a stage but they are just taking the P*** now, does this have anything to do with Dave Richards?????

I have had some real good fun in the past, i even followed it one year on cruches for the week (dedication)

So i have now decided to be an arm chair spectator however i do miss jumping on the back of a motor to get him out of a ditch!!!:-)

Hope you enjoy yourselves!!

I would like to go this year (first year with a Scooby - got to go and support our Burnsie!). Anyone got an idea of the cost of admission? DGRALLYING seemed to imply that all of the stages were pay-to-enter events, not just the special stages. Is this correct?

Thanks for the info

Daniel

Yeah, you have to pay now for the forest stages as well as the superspecials :(. Details of the prices etc can be found here:

So you want to say Bye to Richard!?! well i have been a fan of Richard for many years now since he first started of with the 205 at craven MC, I also have meet his dad Alex in the pub a few times for a chat but i think Richard has now been over come with the fame of being a top Rally driver and it has got the better of him (shall we just say head size)lets hope that his spell back with Peugeot will hopefully carm him down as he will not be No 1 driver.

I think Prodrive could have done better with keeping Juha due to the amount of experiance that he has got to help bring along a new car.

Still, each to their own!!!!

O.K a question for you regular Network Q chaser's

What would you call too late to arrive at a Rally stage (except for the obviouse). Do you arrive 1/2hour, 1 Hour or 1-Day before.

i.e Rhonnda starts at 0929, so when would be the best time to arrive, likewise for Crychann and Halfway etc...etc...

I want to try a do at least 3 of the following stages on the Friday :
Rhonnda - 1st Car 0929
Crychann - 1st Car 1240
Halfway - 1st Car 1304
Brechfa - 1st Car 1603
Trawscoed - 1st car 1651

Cheers.....

Is this the first time that you have been to see the Network Q?????

So you want to see three stages in one day????? I suggest you stay at home and watch the box as that is going to be your only chance.

I have been following the RAC (Whoops! thinking of the old days!) since 1985, in the early days you could have seen three stages but i think you have got no chance now.

I would say that you would be lucky to see two stages.....

Ideally you need to get there as early as possible, may i suggest a min of 2 hrs, as you will have to contend with more traffic than you can imagine.

However i recall sitting in a traffic jam at 11:00 at night for 2 hours waiting to get in to Grizdale.......The only downer was that the first car was not due until 7:01 (work than one out)

Hope this has helped! LOL

Happy Spectating

Deano

Perhaps if we all swopped a few mobile numbers and had some idea what our individual plans were we could notify each other of traffic proplems.

Seem to have missed all my local meets (Hertford/Watford) but we'll be in Llandovery Friday so will try and come along. Mind you we'll have been marshalling in Halfway all day (in a silver wagon @ junction 8 if anyone's there) so could be pretty shattered by then. Would you believe marshals sign-on is at 8am for a 1pm first car? Maybe I'll spectate next year!

Graham
