Does any body know when this is due to be replaced as i have noticed that Jessops have droped its price
D70s + 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 DX LENS for £669
and i was thinking about taking the plunge :) or am i better waiting a few months for its replacement?
I already have a Nikon 35mm SLR camera and a couple of lenses so will stick with Nikon.

No rumours of a D70s replacement - the 's' was a recent upgrade.
Nikon are probably just reacting to market conditions, ie Canon ;)
Make sure your old Nikon lenses are fully compatible with the D70s - the Nikonites on here will confirm - then go for it :D
Nice camera and decent lens :)
Richard.

From what I've seen there isn't much difference between the D50 and the D70, but the D50 is now under £400. Tempted to get a D50 if my camera isn't cheaply fixable.

Maybe Nikon's are just getting cheap!

Never!!!!!! :cuckoo:
Like the Stella ad, "reasuringly expensive" :D As someone said to me when she got to compare the feel of the D70s and D200 :D

I just wondered as the D70S seemed to be mainly a software upgrade from the D70 that it was time for it to be replaced and with the Spec of the D200 i wondered if some of it will trickle down to the D70S replacement?

The D200 is infact a cut down D2x, (has the same algorithms as the D2's and AF systems), its going to be a long time before that technology becomes cheap enough to put in a £500 body.

So to sum up the offer at Jessop's is a good one and it is the right time to buy a D70S?

Thanks for the advice i will have a look round to see if any body has a better price than Jessop.
Any suggestions of trust worth companies to deal with who are UK based? i would rather pay a little more if i will have good service if something goes wrong.

Thanks for that.
I have had a quick look round and Amazon are doing this for £642 which looks even better value.
Nice Pictures of Emma as well!
