Using Photoshop 7, whenever I 'save for web' I loose all exif data:wonder:
Are there any settings to change this?

TIA
Nick.

the *version*??

or is it only camera manufacturer editing software that retains the info?

I would have expected that to happen as its not needed normally for people who use that option.
I always just put the exif data (well most of it) below the caption of the photo

I knew it lost it in Save for web,:wonder: but just tried it in the normal 'Save As' - jpeg and it keeps all the EXIF info.:thumb:

You can still change the size beforehand and set the image compression level before you save it, though it's just not quite as automated as 'Save for Web'

Thanks CW, I thought that I had altered a setting, was sure I had managed to do this before. Guess not

That's the point of "Save for web", it is only the image, no metadata. I know that there are cases where a normal saved jpg with metadat causes problems with browsers/html/cross platform etc but I can't remember exactly what.
