anyone know how to disable the right-click function in browsers, to stop people copying your photos?
cheers
Sold my first pic on istockphoto.com, made a whopping 20c. I can't believe they charge 80% of the sale fee, given the hasstle of registering and uplifting (and getting rejected!)

I've looked at that, but the overall fees are still pretty high (includes paying a monthly storage fee), and the cost of receiving a payment means you'd have to sell quite a bit to make anything.
I'm putting some images on my own site (hence the question), though obviously getting the hits is the issue there

Even if you disable right click on your website, people can still press Print Screen on their keyboard and take a copy of what they are looking at.
You will be better to add a subtle water mark on your images

Darren, I think your watermark is a bit too subtle, it would be quite easy to crop the watermarks out of your image.
There's some interesting stuff on the EOS forums http://www.eos-forums.com/index.php?topic=238.0

Even the sites that block the right click can't usually stop people from copying the pics by copying them from their 'Temporary Internet Files'. ;)
The best idea is to watermark the ones you actually use on the site and if anyone wants to buy the 'unadulterated' version they should contact you to arrange purchase. :)

A water mark has to be the most secure :)
Darren, is that Druids at Brands? :wonder:

That is a very bad picture for a horizontal watermark I admit.
Diagonal watermarks are best but I was rushing :)
Yes it is Druids at Brand. I love that bend :D, its nice when they come up the hill from Paddock 4 or 5 wide and then try and fit into 2 spaces :D
