Just been following the first practice session from Imola on www.f1.com.
Schumi completed only 2 laps at the end of the session, and ended up 1.7 seconds quicker than the nearest race driver!

Things are looking up.

Pole positition for Shumi, with Alonso back in 5th. Looks good for tomorrow.
Question is, will Jenson's tyres warm up?

Button unfortunatley looks like he's going to be another Coulthard, a nearly man.

He's not goint to win championships in his current team.....

Schumi,
I'd like to see him drive for Mclaren at some point before his retirement, though he made some quite commited comments in relation to his future with Ferrari.

Rosberg will be the next start of the future...

I'd like to see Schumi do a Rossi or (hopefully not as badly) a Damon Hill. He's done all he can do at Ferrari. He's won in the wet, in the dry, on circuits he likes, on circuits he doesn't like, with the car damaged and he generally has been able to pay witht he opposition.

He would do himself no end of credit and give the sport a major boost by joining a lesser team. Now some of the teams will have no chance of winning despite the presence of a top driver but Williams need a re-surgence of form, RBR would do well.

I know the schumi fans will point out that ferrari weren't exactly doing well before he joined and that is true but the time has come to move on in my view.

Ferrari's success hasn't always been due to Michael Schumacher, although he has done most of the winning.

Spare a thought for Eddie Irvine, he did very well too & also came quite close to winning a championship, far better than Ruebins.
