Not promising anything but seems like there hasnt been a knocklink group buy for a while.

Anyone interested? Trying to sort out some with P1 guys and normally more we get, the bigger discount we get.

i think retail is around £160 but group buy is usually £125???

Anyone lets just get possible numbers interested for now and can see what supplier can do.

About 6 from P1 lot

TBH they are easy enough to fit youself, all you need to do is find a power source (i used the lighter) then mount the sender on the block, attach wires.....thats it.......takes maybe a few hours if you take your time etc......hardest part is removing/replacing the intercooler, but thats just a few bolts!!!!

Do you think there is any chance of getting lamdalinks included in the GB???

Hey Sandy,

Sorry for sounding so dumb, but how does the sender mount on the engine block? Does it need to be drilled/screwed in or something? Do the wires just run then from the sender to the knocklink gadget in the car?

Finally what does the knocklink tell you? I've read I need one of these if I want to increase the boost.

Thanks
Gavin

then mount the sender on the block, attach wires.....

In order to mount it there are bols under the intercooler which the IC support brackets are attached, just undo the longest one, passenger side and then pass the bolt through the hole in the knocklink sensor.

The knockling has a power source required, in my case i took this from the cigarette lighter and ren the wiring down the back of the dash. the other wires i took down behind the dash on the drives side and then used a hole in the bulkhead down by the clutch pedal. then just plug it together.

I mounted the display in a vent, however i have seen others out it on the steering column, some even open the unit and extend the wires. By doing this you can just mount the indicating LED's without the unit.

The lamda sensor has 5 lights, 2 green, 2 yellow an a red. What happens is the knocklink will detect any noise in the block caused by detonation or piston slap. Under normal driving there should be indication form 1 or both green. If the ambers start to indicate then its possible you are running lean causing detonation. It is best to back off if this happens to avoid engine damage.

I am by no means an expert on this subject tho, but did install one just recently. I suggest having a look through the site as there are several threads in existance about knocklinks, how to fit em and what they do.

Personally i got one becuse my car is an import and isn't mapped yet for uk fuel, so this will warn me if its lean due to crappy petrol. IMO it might be worth getting an AFR (air fuel ratio) meter as well or a Lambdalink as this will help to diagnoe what the problem may be if there is knocking or detonation indicated.

This is aguide on how to install gauges etc on subarus, it may be worth looking at as there is also a knocklink guide to.

Hope this has been of some help to you, i will try and get pics of what i did and where the stuff goes if you want, just PM an email address.

Thanks

Sandy
