Default Differences in rear bumpers early vs late classics??

Forgive me if my skills of observancy suck but just wondered if there was any difference between MY96 and MY99/00 rear bumpers with regards to styling?

Or are all rear bumpers on classics the same? Never really paid much attention.

Thanks.

ahh yes, makes sense now. I have an MY96 and belive it has the strip that you mention.

Would prefer a smoother rear bumper, everywhere seems to do front facelift bumpers but not rears

to be honest mate i didn't even notice there was a difference until about after a year after i had my car

keep your eye on ebay and for people breaking cars on here, they crop up quite often and i don't think there is much of a price premium compared to earlier ones

I noticed it on my first MY96 car in white .... having to run the edge of a cloth all the way along the strip to try and clean it!!

could an early rear bumper be smoothed out in a bodyshop to look like a late one? and will it then be identical????
