Rich, I am about to order a PC today, and wanted some advice on products to use on both my 1997 Audi A4 (dark blue metallic) and my MY99 Impreza STi Type R (in sonic blue). I have asked similar questions on detailingworld

I currently have clay, SSR2, ex-p and p21-s carnauba (I also have some swissol products). Swirl marks on the Audi are fairly bad, and are not too bad on the Impreza (for a 7 year old car). Would SSR2 be up to the job (I realise the Audi paint is quite tough), and also, would I benefit from applying SSR1 after? Or would I be better in ordering some Menzerna IP, and go straight to the ex-p/carnauba after that?

I am looking for deep reflections and a "wet" look (the reason I still use carnauba).

Hi Tony, the SSR2 will be like tickling the Audi paint with a feather - it's really that tough. I would go straight to IP with an orange light cut pad on the Audi, and I would work the IP hard (one pass at speed 2 to spread, one at 4 to warm up the pad, then 2-3 at speed 6 until the product dries - buff, inspect, repeat if needs be). On the Scoob, I'd go with IP using a white polishing pad, and at a slower rate (say 4-5 on the dial). On both cars, I would follow up with either Final Polish II or SSR1 for the best possible finish, using a white polishing pad. Your last step products are perfect for the look you desire, but I would consider adding a glaze beneath the EX-P for extra depth and richness - either Clearkote Red Moose Machine Glaze or Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze would work well. Both are applied using a black glazing pad at low speed. :)

Cheers for that, cant stretch to the glaze + pad, so hopefully will be OK with the 2 menz products? I assume I can get the glaze at any time, and just use some polish on a light pad to get rid of wax, but not "cut" the paint, and then apply the glaze at a later date?
