Hello

I have painted a load of door frames and doors. Instead of using gloss, I have used satin paint, as i prefer the finish. The only problem is that the paintwork marks so easily, especially if you hang a metal coat hanger on it (as i found out).

I was going to paint the skirting and stair bannisters and all the woodwork in stain, but was wondering if there is any way I can stop it marking so much, as you always touch the hand rail when going up/down the stairs.

Thanks

Dave

Satin varnish over the top maybe? Extra work I know, but may be worth it.

dont put varnish on top it will go yellow and you will not be able to paint over it.
no answer to this one apart fron a regular over paint

I have used satin in my house and not come across the problem!!!!

Make sure you put a good couple of coats on the you can wash it down.
