I have a Whirlpool Fridge freezer S25B which has started clicking for about 30 seconds every so often. The noise comes from a white control box at the back inside the panel on the RHS.

There is also spurting when dispensing water and more clicking when the ice maker is turned on.

It sounds like a solenoid or relay misbehaving.

Is it possible to get these boards reconditioned? - or just replace the ofending unit. A board seems to be in the region of £120 / £200 depending on the model :(

any other ideas?

Cheers

Does it have a filter? if so sometimes these can cause problems if they are due for a change.

Thanks for the comment. - yes it does have a filter - but it clicks even with the filter removed... So I ruled that one out. We rarely use the fridge filtered water actually.
