Is this still the product of choice amongst us car owners?

I'm personally tempted by the Divine personal wax that is available. This would be for one of my classic cars, not for the subaru for which i feel either the Shield or the Samari is brilliant and fairly inexpensive.

Is Fulham71 still the chap to purchase from and has anyone else tried the Divine personal wax? :Suspiciou

Tried Menzerna FMJ? Or Poorboy's Natty's Blue over EX-P? Reason I ask is a lot of people haven't, and the results are stunning. I've tried most products, and in my opinion many of these high end products are overrated. Also, using product combinations from different ranges often gives better results than using a single brand for the whole car - this is because you can use product characteristics to build up the look you want. For example, on silver Klasse All In One gives the paint an awesome glow but with little reflectivity. Add a layer of Optimum Car Wax though, and the glow is preserved whilst awesome reflections are added. The UK car care scene has really taken off over the last 12 months, and there are now many new products to try, which give amazing results. I spent over six months deciding what to stock, based on testing and the experiences of fellow detailers - if many of these high end products are so good, why do the majority of serious detailers avoid them?

Of course there is always opinions and they often differ

I like Swiss because of its ease of use, I guess you will tell me that your products are even easier ;)

I also guess you only get what you put in

a 5 min wash and Chami is never going to produce a show car

I will look at the Porter Cable Machine because I am lazy and always up for a gadget btw I can probably get a group buy on Transformers if anybody is interested

My products are not necessarily easier, but will certainly give results that can be tailored more to the look you want (and the amount of time you have to play!) - as you say, you don't get anywhere without good technique and hard work in addition to fine products. Thanks for the welcome. :)

Lol, wondered when the freebie request was coming! Tell you what, tell me about your car and the condition of your paint and the look you want and the durability you want and whether you'll be working by hand or machine and I'll make a recommendation. Then, you can buy the products, test them out, post some pics of what you have achieved compared to what you used to achieve and then we can all judge for ourselves. :)

yes, I use white spirit to clean the dirty side but wonder if there is anything else out there??

I would expect a brand new car to look mint anyway (A bit like the new cars polished on PB website)
The real test would be on an 5-6 year old car like mine.

My Leon has 75k on the clock, is over 4 years old and does 300+ miles a week on cruddy back roads! Hardly brand new either! Car looks great Phil, very clean and well finished. What are the flaps made of Phil? Looks like plastic? Thinking a strong APC like P21S Total Auto Wash or Poorboy's APC would do the trick.

They are Subaru Supplied Flaps so not sure what the actual material is

I have tried everything on them with no luck at all :(

High mileage yes but well cared for :D

the mudflaps are made from polyurethane, does that help any??

Gave John's car a quick wash today to inspect the paint prior to the big detailing day in a couple of weeks time - he doesn't have flaps. :rolleyes: My other thought is Klasse All In One (seems odd I know), but it's solvents have an amazing cleaning action, and I know it works well on other plastics. I'll have a go when an opportunity arise.
