I'd rather not have to ride with L-Plates, and not too bothered about how slow it is, as I have approximately zero bottle on two wheels;) its just to save me walking!

You can ride anything below 50cc without L plates and without doing a CBT. Just got a Yamaha Neos for £550 (2004).... it will do for getting to work as i don't want to rack the miles up on the MY06.
