View Full Version : west coast meet
dougies549 08 April 2001, 15:52 lo all http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif
i know u have started a section in the other topic but thought some people might not look at it any more so started a new 1
alan g myself and diana have been thinking of getting a meet on down our way for a change.
Down in bonny ayrshire, there are some bloody good back roads round here.
we were thinking of starting of at either glasgow or our local dealers(s+s service)in ayr.
the back road from glasgow is a cracker(the old glasgow road)but once on it you are liable to u own driving style, this road is VERY DANGEROUS there has been numours death on it with stupid drivers, but its a damn good road, then possiably down to beith then head for ayr, back road to the A77 then we have to still plan the last stage, any 1 from this area there input would be welcome.
we are looking to have a drive for about 1 to 2 hours this lets people come down from perth, dundee and every where else, have a good run then still have some of sunday free to do what u want.

ScottishMenace 10 April 2001, 09:55 Bonny Ayrshire for a meet - well there is an idea - I would be interested assuming I can find my Passport. Just a few questions for you
1. How far is it from Scotland?
2. What is the duty free shopping like?
3. Do you have MacDonalds or is it Lttle Chef?
4. Is it true you automatically lose boost when you drive over the border or is that restricted to Black Scoobys.
hehehehe -
ps just give the boys a time and place and we will be there
AndrewW 10 April 2001, 10:56 Sounds great.
Hopefully I'll have my low boost problem sorted by then and I'll be able to keep up with you (as long as Diana isn't driving http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif).
Andrew.
JohnS 10 April 2001, 13:33 I was planning to arrange a meeting at Kames (we can all have a shot on the track for a bit of fun) for a day, once the current F&M crisis was over, with the help of the other John http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
I was hoping this would be in the next couple of months, but it looks like F&M is going to drag on for a bit longer http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
As well as this, we are planning the usual BBQ event at Loch Lomond again, and the big West Coast event (Tour d'Ecosse) in November, and a trip to Ireland in early May.
However, the calendar is looking a bit empty for the next month or two, so really just choose a suitable date and we'll try and get as many people there as possible. Sunday's seem to be the most suitable date for most people http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
dougie+dee-dee 10 April 2001, 18:28 We were actually thinking of making it this Sunday John S if that suited everyone.
Glad to see a few replies now (thought no-one was willing to travel down this neck of the woods) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Once we have a few more names we can arrange a time and place to meet.

John Phillips 10 April 2001, 19:20 Dougie, I'd be up for that. Dave Brown was trying to set something up for Dundee/Perth this weekend I think.
Hopefully one will go ahead, so lets get it organised and the word passed about.
I'm no mechanic but an easy way to solve your boost problems is to buy an Evo, 1.3 to 1.5bar everytime... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif

AlanG 10 April 2001, 21:07 Hi All
Idea is to start off somewhere that those from the east side of the country can find easily.
Roads we intend to take will be available on the day but having driven some of them, they are definitely Scooby roads. As to whether you all want Saturday or Sunday, post here and majority dictates the day, We're up for either.
Look forward to seeing some old faces (Sam haha) and some new.
A D & D

John Phillips 12 April 2001, 15:11 I take it Sunday is favourite!!??
Who will be travelling from the East? Fancy meeting up and travelling in single file?
How about the Harthill services, westbound (natch'), at the Wimpey. Or a more suitable place further West.
