View Full Version : Karting Challenge
Date: Wednesday 30th August
Venue: Raceland Karting Centre in Edinburgh
Format: Two hour non stop (!!) endurance event with 30 minute practise session beforehand. After 45 minutes, a fuelling window of 15 minutes becomes available, before which all drivers must have driven at least once. All drivers must drive at least once after the re-fuelling.
Teams: Minimum 3 people, maximum 4 people. Cost £140 per team (or £35 each for a team of 4, £47 each for a team of 3).
Prizes: Awarded to top three teams
Experience: No previous experience required http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Who: Anyone can attend! The event is being co-organised with the Scottish Elises group, so you don't need to be a member of any club.
To even things up, a minimum average driver weight will be imposed of about 80Kg (to be confirmed), meaning you can't field a team of super lightweight karting experts (aka Elise drivers).
You can bring along as many friends & colleagues as you like to help make up your teams, but places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first served basis (deposit required).
Please reply directly if you have any more questions.

Soundes like a good idea to me. Should be able to get a team of 3 if thats ok.
JOHN........
Greg Small 18 July 2000, 21:29 To get the very best from the Kart you must use 100ron petrol and do a ECU reset with a select monitor before the qualifying lap. This info came from a very well known john menzies top shelf mag.......

JohnS 03 August 2000, 22:56 I've now got the final details for this event, taking place at Raceland karts in Edinburgh.
6pm to about 10pm for a two hour endurance race, with 30 minutes practice. This will be on the outdoor track using twin engined pro-karts http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Teams of 3 or 4 people at a cost of £140 per team (£35 each for a team of 4). You can enter on your own, and we'll sort out a team for you. There will be a minimum average weight per team, to make sure things are nice and even!
A deposit of £20 per person is required asap to confirm your place, as places are very limited.
Please e-mail me and I'll tell you where to send the cheque(s) to, and add you (and your friends and colleagues) to the list of attendees.
RichS 04 August 2000, 17:09 Raceland is always a good laugh, especially if you're on the outdoor track. (Which you will be if you're running twin engine karts.)
Can't enter though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif 'cos I'll be away on holiday! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Maybe next time...
