Just tried to turn over my 2000 R6 this morning and not surprised to find it wouldn't start. Battery is fully charged (according to my charging thingy) and bump starting it didn't work. All i get is some weird buzzing noise while pushing the start button and no dash display. Anyone any ideas what the problem may be.
Cheers

on older bikes there used to be a solenoid under the side panel that acted as a switch for the starter motor, usually a tap with the back of a screwdriver cured it & clean the connector wires

Kill switch?
Immobiliser?
It hasn't been leant over / dropped since it was last started has it? there's a sensor thingy thats acts as another kill switch in case the rider falls off/ gets knocked off, this cuts the fuel - not sure where it is on your bike?

I used to get that "buzzy" sound when the battery on my 2002 R6 was too low. At the same time the dash display would change to ---- or be blank. I used to have to bump start it at this point which was hard work!
Is your battery "thingy" an optimate? Could be the charger you have is not for bike batteries...

Cheers for the replies. Bike hasn't been dropped and there is no immbiliser installed. Kill switch checked , was in the right position, and bump start ain't working (Worked fine when the last battery failed). Battery charger is an Oxford Maximiser. Still at a loss here :wonder:

Get some jump leads on it & give it a try

Try rocking it forward & back in second gear then try to start it.
it might be the starter motor is a bit stiff.

I would a buzzing solenoid under the seat if the batterys low, do the lights work (always a good test to see the if battery's healthy).
As Andy said Jump start best option with maybe a bit of easy start.

Nice one fella, glad you got it going again! I hated bump starting mine, always feared I would drop it.
