Guys,
Have any of you changed the driving lamps on your cars.
I have been thinking of putting new ones on my car (UK Model), but don't know which ones are best and best value for money. Keep hearing really bad stories about the PIAA lamps, bulbs blowing all the time etc.
Can anyone give me some ideas which I should go for and possibly an idea of price aswell
Shaun
Hi Shaun
I've got Hella Comet 500's fitted to my MY99 scoob
I find them great now that I've changed the 55w bulbs that came with them for 100w ones instead
Nice n bright and far better than just the original lights on their own!!!
Imho theyre great value for money
I would recommend them highly
Hope this helps
Niall

Hi Shaun,
Good to see a newish member on the board.
3 real options here,
1) PIAA from Subaru and some other dealers
2) CIBE from Scooysport/scoobymania/Mac's Power
3) Mac's Power's own system developed with Hella
I don't believe there was ever a problem with the PIAA's blowing bulbs but the CIBE have been known as bulb eaters.
PIAA's are very good with a kind of spotlight beam while the CIBE's have the best spread of light.
Your other option is the version we do which looks very standard and is much cheaper than the others.
E-mail me for further details if you are interested. As you know if you want real light then the only way is to change the driving lamps.
Paul.

Hey there shaun,
I have the PIAAs on my RB5 and have only blown one blub in 2 years, not too bad. They are excellent they are sooooo much better than the std lights. A good set of driving lights are worth it certainly.

Hi Shaun
I've been using the Cibe Oscars 130w lights for two years now and I must say they are superb. They give out a good spread of light and are just the ticket for night time twisty bits.!
