I carried out the earthing mod on my legacy yesterday . The car seems a bit quicker , especially after 4,000 rpm but I'm not sure as I haven't had it on a long journey yet to get the car fully warmed up . I'll keep you posted . Maybe if we get the rolling road day rescheduled I'll be able to do back to back tests , time permitting .

Thanks for the info. As you say a rolling road test of with/without the earth mod will be able to tell how good it works..

if you get a chance would you post a pic of the mod on your car,or tell us how you kept it tidy.
I thought I look very messy when I saw it on the web

I just used 4 cables and used the one piece inlet manifold as a central connection . I think the B4 has a 2 piece inlet manifold and that's why they used so many cables . I used an old 16 mm2 jump lead for cable and soldered on some eye type battery terminals , insulating them with heat shrink sleeving .
The first cable bolts on to the battery terminal and is cabled tied along the existing earth cable as far as the left strut tower and branches up and is bolted to the closest strut bolt ( remove the paint around the hole to get good contact ) . Another cable goes from there to the nearest convenient bolt on the inlet manifold .
A short cable is run from the alternator to the nearest point on the inlet manifold and this is hidden by the plastic coil cover .
The last cable goes from the right strut tower to a convient point on the inlet manifold .
If anybody has the facility to post pictures send me their address and I'll mail them some vidcaps of it .
I'll be at the track day at mondello if anybody wants to see it .
