I need 6 people to make it worthwhile doing a run, but I'm sure if we get more it won't be a problem.
All those that have expressed an interest in these over the last few months will have a PM shortly.
These brackets allow you to fit the New age (MY01>) WRX 2 pot rear calipers and discs to any Impreza/Legacy currently fitted with single piston sliding rear calipers.
All you need are the Calipers, discs and pad from a MY01-05 WRX (Not STI or Classic JDMs as the discs are different, though the calipers can be used) and this bracket kit.
The kit will contain a pair of brackets and mounting bolts.
No special tools are needed to fit so no drilling or tapping of threads. They are a direct bolt on!!
Fitting instructions with pics here: http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=428646
I ran the calipers on my car at Scooby shoot out and they have had some hard use in the 14k miles since and they still look as good as the day I fitted them.
You will be impressed with the quality of the machining and when anodised look very professional. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a bit of a perfectionist, but the finish of these blew me away :)
The brackets will be hard anodised grey (sort of anthracite colour)
Or you can have them in Red or Blue for £10 per pair extra.
This is the simplest way to upgrade your rear brakes to 2 pots. If you have a jack, a socket set and a little know how this is a doddle ;)
The bracket kit works out at £150 including anodising mounting bolts and Postage :)
Get in before the rush.
Iain.

Dyney 15 January 2006, 13:10 We have 3 people interested, so only 3 places left!!! :)
16vmarc 15 January 2006, 14:31 Would love some, but im currently out of work!
P1 Sonic 19 January 2006, 23:36 Can you use the classic discs with this conversion or do you need the newage discs aswell ?
If yes do the newage discs fit straight on the classic hub and handbrake shoes ?
Tone Loc 19 January 2006, 23:53 You need MY01 WRX discs, and yes they fit straight on.
Tony.
P1 Sonic 20 January 2006, 00:12 Thanks Tony, hope to hear from you soon.
Tone Loc 20 January 2006, 17:43 I'll definately let you know if the current buyer falls through. I have a feeling he won't at that price tho :)
Tony.
P1 Sonic 20 January 2006, 18:50 What size are the MY01 WRX rear discs ?
Dyney 22 January 2006, 20:39 The MY01-05 WRX rear discs are 290mm with a 170mm handbrake drum :)
I have 4 people so only 2 places to fill before I order the brackets :D
RB5_245 24 January 2006, 15:23 Any Idea on the cost of disks pads and calipers?
Dave
ticky 24 January 2006, 20:54 Ive seen the rear calipers at Grade A website going for £60 each I think.
There are loads of subaru breakers who might have a better deal on the whole set up. (disks, pads & caliper). It might be worth a try calling a few.
HDC
Scoobybits
Grade A
etc.
Dyney 24 January 2006, 23:43 I got my Calipers, discs and pads for £200
But I know most have got them for less :(
One guy on the last GB found some for a silly price on eBay!! Something like £50 :o
RB5_245 25 January 2006, 02:14 Difficult question... can you get ds2500 pads for these (as standard with ap racing kits)?
Dyney 25 January 2006, 19:45 Errr.... Yes :) I'm running them :D
Dyney 25 January 2006, 19:46 Add another to the list :D
That makes 5, only one more needed before I can put the order in ;)
Hakon 31 January 2006, 15:55 Get up there....
More than satisfied from the previous group buy :):)
My previous set up did nothing, even the disc surface had rusted !

andy97 07 February 2006, 15:27 Its taken me a while to get my 2 pots fitted to the car, but I fitted them yesterday.
I took my time and cleaned and copper greased the 2 pot calipers, fitted the grooved godspeed vented discs and the important bit the nicely finished brackets.
The fit is perfect from the brackets-thanks Iain.
If your fitting them yourself, then make sure that the mating surfaces are perfectly flat,as mine were quite corroded and needed a good clean up in that area and use thread lock.

got any pics Andy?
andy97 07 February 2006, 19:20 Sorry I didnt take any. I have just type up a full list of the steps I took and tried to save it and the internet crashed. Arrrrgh
It is straight forward , just take your time. If you dont feel upto it then a garage should only take a couple of hours to do both sides. I took all day but wasnt in a rush.

trails 07 February 2006, 20:02 thanks Andy, what are you running up front and did you feel the difference of the larger disks or could it just be a placibo effect?
Dyney 07 February 2006, 20:14 Fitting instuctions are here: http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=428646 :)
Andy,
I'm glad your pleased. :D
The hardest bit is finding the spot welds on the back plates ;)

There seems to be more feel to the brakes (more pistons), havent tried them in anger yet, but mild braking the car does feel a little flatter.

thanks for the info Andy, i'm going to put some sti8 brembos on the front, the two pots should be more balanced than the sliding calipers...
