View Full Version : RB5 No259 (11,900 miles)
drive87 05 January 2006, 16:56 No 259 FOR SALE
I have owned this car from new, it was a third car, used only when not driving my wives car or my company car hence the low mileage.
It is not a Prodrive further enhanced model!
To say this car is immaculate is an understatement, no dings. Never been smoked in or even eaten in. The RB5 floor mates were always protected by rubber mats, in fact the car has never required to be vacuumed! Only ever hand washed by myself.
The front passenger alloy has a slight scuff on it which happened when it was 2 months old so I purchased a new one which is still in the box and will be included in the sale. My intention being that when the car required new tyres I would change it over, this never happened, the car is still on it's original 4 tyres which have plenty of life in them possibly 5-8000miles. The spare has also never been used.
This car has never been raced.
Taxed and MOT May 2006.
I believe this to be arguably the best example around and certainly the best for sale.
I have all the Subaru brochures for this car and will pass these on to the new owner.
ADDITIONS TO SPEC include
Pioneer p6000R single play CD
Infinity 605cs
Intercooler Protector
Brake Servo Brace
Tracker
Boot Tray
Boost gauge
Tar-Ox drilled and grooved front discs with Green Stuff Pads
K&N air filter
Magnex S/Steel mid and back box (round tail pipe)
Clear side indicators.
Please, no time wasters. 12,800pounds is the price.
Test drives only with valid insurance.
For some reason I cannot make attachments on this forum but if you are genuinely interested please email me and I will forward pictures as required.

Danny B 07 January 2006, 12:11 What plate is this on?
Dark Blue Mark 07 January 2006, 12:26 Got air con too.
MB
drive87 07 January 2006, 12:37 The car is on a "T" plate, with air con. Maybe looking for some sort of big jeepy thingy.
SC008Y_MAD 07 January 2006, 13:02 The condition of that rb5 make me sick mate.
drive87 07 January 2006, 22:34 Noticed a couple of comments on the RB5 forum regarding the car that I'd like to clear up, firstly the tyres on the car are in excellent condition, the sidewalls are not cracked in any way at all as they have been properly maintained throughout thier life. The car has always been garaged and I have ensured that they have not developed "flat spots" as sometimes happens to cars through lack of use. If someone will post a photograph of a sample tyre for me this will clearly show that.
Secondly the engine bay may not be as clean as some would expect for its mileage (eh!) but I can assure anyone that a power washer has never been near the engine bay in its life, what you see is what you get. The interior has never been valeted, no chemicals or sprays on the dash board or seats (which are as new), a wipe with a damp cloth was all that was ever needed ensuring the dash never developed a 'shine'. The car has never been vacuumed out, any "bits" will remain as they can't be seen!
This is why the car still smells like new.

Whats the service history on your RB5 ?
Which part of the country are you in (roughly) ?
Thanks
King Eric 08 January 2006, 00:12 The model I always wanted :(
This is in superb condition and having spent a great deal of time following one of these around the country and also the odd blast abroad I can only say that you are mad for selling it. To me, the RB5 means the same as the Escort Cosworth does to performance cars. Yes, maybe its no 22B or STI V-Limited etc etc but in this condition, having had this much care and having been shown no abuse this has to be the best RB5 in the Uk. Surely?
Good luck with the sale, If I had that money sat in the bank I would buy it to sit next to my UK300 on our driveway
:)
Dave uk blue mica 08 January 2006, 01:46 i've always wanted one of these and 3 years ago when i bought my old MY99 impreza i looked at RB5's but couldn't justify the extra £6k people wanted for them so i didn't get one, lovely looking car though but i don't like the look of that gauge on the corner of the dash though. someones going to be very lucky if they get to own this very low mile version though.

rs2drew 08 January 2006, 07:54 p/x Focus RS 3500 miles never seen rain or salt.....
drive87 08 January 2006, 14:11 RS Focus nice but not for me, sorry rs2Drew.
Service history of the car is as follows, serviced by S&S in Ayr up to the warranty period after which I carried out oil and filter changes twice yearly, one just done.
My brother has an identical RB5 with same mods, same condition and similar mileage. The cars were always worked on together. Genuine parts, oil purchased from Eaglesham Garage in 25lt drum.
These cars were never driven by anyone else apart from ourselves and one particular mechanic from S&S who we trusted and always accompanied on the test drive. He maintained they were the best Scoobs he'd ever driven. In fact S&S did want these cars and made a point contacting us for them.
Incidently my brothers was purchased from S&S, mine from Clarkston Motors.
Can I point out to anyone that while servicing is very important to a car,the schedules are based on normal useage, my car has hardly had that! I noticed on another site that someone has a Series Macrae, about 7 years old, just been in for its first service,900 odd miles, why have that car seviced every 6months?
I still have all the "original" parts from the car, indicators, exhaust, stereo, front discs etc. which I will pass on.
The car has additional wax injection/coating done at time of purchase because the standard quantity was inadequate. this was carried out by the dealer.
rb5 286 08 January 2006, 16:22 that is one immaculate RB5
what number does your brother have?
have u directed him over to our forum
