robbo_64 01 June 2001, 10:38 Any news on the Croft track day or are we just waiting for the info pack over the next couple of days?
Neil. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif
Everyone that's booked a place should have received a pack, unless you've only just booked.
If you've paid, and don't have a pack yet, please mail me. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Does anyone have info on nearest SUL garages at/near croft?
ta!

robbo_64 04 June 2001, 11:19 Stef, I was booked on the original date, cancelled due to the weather, you kept my £100 cheque and I sent you a cheque for another £20. Didn't check if you have cashed them or not but I was expecting to be reserved a place on the new date. Hope this is OK.
Neil.
Have e-mailed you on your Stef@sidc.co.uk address with my details
robbo_64 04 June 2001, 13:03 Only know of one, BP garage at the end of North road, bit of a trek from the circuit (5+ miles) will do some more research,
Neil.
Skippy 04 June 2001, 13:20 Been my first time out, how much petrol should i expect to use, i was planning on having about 2/3rds in the car and a 20 litre can as reserve, think this will do ??
Skip.
Matthew H 04 June 2001, 13:52 There is a petrol station at Scotch Corner that I am sure sells SUL. Not right at the circuit but not that far either.
Hope this helps.
robbo_64 04 June 2001, 15:55 Skippy,
I will be in a MY98 Green 4 door turbo, later model 4-pot brakes have been fitted with EBC green pads, may have a Magnex st/thru centre pipe on by then as well.
Was expecting around 10mpg on the track????, so was expecting to go with a full tank and then possibly pop out to fill up again sometime in the day. At this rtae would expect to get around 100 laps in??, Croft is just over 2 miles long, I think?? Does this sound about right? Went to the track for the Powertour? event last bank holiday, TVR's looked/sounded awesome, Scooby's with exhausts should be a fantastic sight too.

chuckdog 04 June 2001, 16:04 Be careful out there Skippy. Try not to have to venture out on track with less than 1/3 of a tank or you may find out about fuel surge mid corner, can lead to equivalent of lift-off oversteer moments http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif .

Skippy 04 June 2001, 16:12 Neil
I'll be the black 94WRX with gold std 16" wheels if its dry, 17" OZ's if its wet. Scoobysport DP, straight thru centre and Scoobysport BB (worried about been to noisy). Also fitting 4 pots with EBC disks and yellow stuff, really turning into a track car only, not many road miles.
Chuck
I'll take that adicve, proberbly get another couple of jerry cans and keep it topped up.
Maybe popping out, better have too much than too little.
Anymore advice is welcome !!!
Skip.
Andy H 04 June 2001, 21:02 The services at scotch corner definetly sell super (Esso i think) for anyone coming from the south.
There is a Shell station nr Cockerton in darlington that sells super for anyone coming from the north.
Both not very close but should be intreasting at dinner time as a convoy of imprezas go looking for fuel.
Only 11 days to go and counting.
RS Pilot 04 June 2001, 22:47 Getting SUL near Croft:-
Scotch Corner Services sell the stuff but you'll need a second mortgage to pay for it.
I've only found two garages in town that sell it, both Shell. The nearest with 2 pumps(ref Andy H)is Woodlands Road. Head for the Memorial Hospital and you won't go far wrong. The second has just the one pump and is at the top of North road (Robbo 64 - is this the one you meant?)
10 mpg on the track - you must be running the car in then http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Cheers,
Mark

RS Pilot 04 June 2001, 22:48 Edited due to duplicate post!!
Why does it do that?
[This message has been edited by RS Pilot (edited 05 June 2001).]
robbo_64 05 June 2001, 09:40 Yeah, that's the one I was thinking of at the top of North Road, thought that wopuld be the closest, haven't spotted the one in Cockerton, if so,this one is probably the closest??
Never been on the track (except on a bike) so don't know what to expect consumption wise. What do you think??
10 days and counting.
Neil.

RS Pilot 05 June 2001, 21:52 Neil,
About 6 years ago I ran an Uno Turbo around the old track and think I was getting about 15 mpg. I never took any of my bikes around the circuit (too scared to trash them on 3rd party insurance) but know that I could drive the Uno harder than I could ride my bikes.
I expect you won't be far wrong with 10 mpg but I wouldn't expect any more that's for sure http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

chambjj 06 June 2001, 11:52 Stef, have e-mailed you re Croft. Like Robbo I was on the original day and am waiting to get confirmation. I have no Welcome pac and I have sent the additional £20.00.
Can you please confirm my place.... ta.
chambjj 06 June 2001, 13:27 Robbo et all, who is staying at the Clow Beck hotel? I will be there UK green with revolution wheels.
Hi could do with the dates for the day as its not in the topic above. A mate of mine is very very interested in goin but has a pulsar gtir will it be ok for him to sign up 2 the day on here. Cheers steve
Hi Steve.
It's on Friday June 15th.
It's an SIDC event, and as such is open to SIDC members only. There will be some non-Scoobs there but they will either be members or people who booked on the original date in March when we couldn't fill the day ourselves. I'm still awaiting confirmation from some of these non-members, and there are still a few places left.
If the day still isn't full then I'm sure we can accomodate him. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Stef.
robbo_64 07 June 2001, 23:13 Chambjj, My local is the Newbus Arms Hotel (and bar) in Neasham, about 3 or 4 miles from the circuit, not sure where the Clow Beck hotel is, could meet up with everyone there or you lot could come to the Newbus Arms, what do you reckon?

robbo_64 08 June 2001, 09:28 Stef, will find out prices etc. and pass on to you, how many people are we talking, do you think?,
Neil.
AndrewW 08 June 2001, 10:48 Stef,
Just sent you an email, haven't received my info pack yet ...
Neil,
I'm looking for a room for the wife and myself for the Thursday and possibly Friday night. Nothing like leaving things to the last minute http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Any ideas on a price / availability ?
Anybody else from the Edinburgh area heading down for the day ?
Thanks,
Andrew.
robbo_64 08 June 2001, 11:21 Everyone, spoke to the Manager at the Newbus Arms, Neasham, Alastair Mathieson, he will do a rate of £30/night for a single room or £55 for a double room (including breakfast). He has quite a few rooms available, contact no. is 01325-721071, mention that you are with The Subaru Impreza Drivers' Club Track Day.
Hotel is a big old manor house in a pleasant location in the loop of the River Tees, the village of Hurworth is only a few hunderd yards away, several pubs and a Spar shop, hairdressers and a dentist http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif
I believe the Clow Beck is a bit closer to Croft, but in the middle of nowhere so to speak, hope this helps,
Neil.
