salsa-king 10 February 2001, 18:31 theres still a group from Nottingham going down at 7:30ish if its raining the pod might not be on, but as it is the first POTN..... Paul Habgood 10 February 2001, 20:16 Phil See ya there, looks like Steph & Harj are going too Paul harj 10 February 2001, 21:34 Even when it rains SPOD is still open, ive been there twice when its raining heavily and they still wait for the chance of it stopping. When it stops and they check its all clear above, they have this huge Drag Hair Dryer with a Jet Engine http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Dries the strip pretty quick. See you lads there! HAPPY 10 February 2001, 21:40 i'm still going even if i have to wait and only get one run it will be worth it pete Puff The Magic Wagon! 11 February 2001, 23:57 SO WTF happened???? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif Blow Dog 12 February 2001, 00:31 LOL puff. I think loads of people wanted to avoid the risk! I know a lot of us went to the fleet meet instead. Cem p.s. Ironically, it didn't rain all day! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif Aero 12 February 2001, 00:59 Great afternoon, Scoobies amongst the quickest there. The Scooby Car Cleaning Club will have had something to say about a couple of examples mind. ROTFLMAO http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif They should stop goons hooning it around the pit lane though. That's what the bloody strip is for. Cheers, for taking that vid Craig (though it had to be the one which took me 3s to react.) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif I've had a look, and the front wheel arch opens about 8"s on take off. cool. Cheers folks, top day out, hope to do it again soon... Peter. (Isn't it a 13.5s 1/4 for the M5, the fastest saloon car in the world?) Paul Habgood 12 February 2001, 10:26 I enjoyed mesself! Racing got going about 12:45hrs (ish) good mixture of cars, must have been 20+ Scoobs there. Good to see some familar faces and meet some new ones! Highlites of the day for me Chap in a red Nova who went backwards as the lights turned to green - Nice one! Stef & Harj took joint first place in the 'Camouflage your cars to make it look like a muddy hill' class. The pictures will be posted up soon! Ironicaly, the Pod security chap got stuck in the mud whilst 'advising' us to move our cars off of their luvly grass - all good natured! Big thanks to Peter who helped get Harj (well his car) out of the mud and got platstered (and i do mean plastered) in mud! All in all a damn fine way to spend a Sunday Paul [This message has been edited by Paul Habgood (edited 12 February 2001).] harj 12 February 2001, 10:27 Shame about the rain yesterday, I didn't run but I had a little fun in the Mud http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif I was stuck for 10 minutes in deep mud on a field that Stef and I thought we could play on, having bald tyres on a 22B in deep mud doesn't help. Thanks to the lads I was out, please send the dry cleaning bill to me and I think the video footage and piccies will be interesting. LOL Still doing my Powerslides in the Gravel was fun enough as the onlookers really saw how a 22B is suppose to be driven http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif NickPM 12 February 2001, 12:51 A great day out, and some really nice scoobs on show. Good to meet craig, Stef, harji, salsa king and others.... superb cars and had to be some of the quickest on the day ... Someone was putting in 13teens in a blue scoob - 103 over the line on the first run i think? quick. There were about 40ish POTN members that turned up, although they were scattered all over the pits and no POTN banner it was difficult to say exactly how many. Some came up from Plymouth, down from the North too so it made my day that the strip dried out for 4-5 hours racing. Not bad for a first effort, roll on the next one. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif ps stefs car was well and truly caked! lmao! salsa-king 12 February 2001, 18:40 brill day Simon with his P1 got SQM 13.5sec @ 104mph! wow best i ran was 15.163sec that was at 91.05mph reaction time was 0.420!!!!! (standard MY97 turbo)!!though! except magnex centre+b/box +K&N induction! lol good day though, best time to get on the strip was 4:30! no other cars wanted to go (everyone gone home) so Simon (P1) and i had time to test our cars against each other!!! LOL Areo (Tom) ur v. quick too!!!!!!! v v quick. Phil Phil Aero 13 February 2001, 11:44 Cheers Hos/Phil, I reckon that headwind took a bit out of the times. The best fun I had all day was running against Simon in his P1. He finished travelling 104mph to my 99mph. I've been trying to calculate an approx 0-60 time from the times any one got any idea how? Cheers, Aero. :D Hos 13 February 2001, 13:01 Hiya, Good day - even if it was abit windy http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Aero (white wrx) looked really good! -very quick and very impressed.
