Well, after a few hiccups in our plans thanks to redundancy, etc. things seem to be back on track. Karen needs to get her racing licence in the New Year and we need to prepare her race car.
If anyone is going to be at the following race meetings, then come and check out the MR2 Challenge racers and look for Karen Phillip's car. She's learnt a good deal of her race craft in our S13 200SX and Impreza Turbo. :)

Karen passed her ARDS test a couple of weeks ago at Castle Combe. :D
Last weekend was spent replacing the original springs/dampers with PI Springs and KYB items. The discs were replaced with brand new standard items and the lines were swapped to braided ones. We changed all the pads to a Pagid compound.
It was fecking cold! :(
On top of that, I'd recently fitted a quickshift and new shiny racing knob, and an OMP 300mm racing steering wheel.
Braking doesn't seem any better than before, but we've yet to bed-in the discs and pads. Apparently the pads need plenty of heat to work properly anyway.
Initially there was some clonking from the suspension, but after some tightening up and a few more miles everything is great. The car corners flatter and initial turn-in is much improved. We'll probably get the geometery sorted by Powerstation, just to be safe. ;)
Oh - As the new dampers were gas items, we assumed the old ones were too. We only discovered they were oil-filled when we opened the first strut casing and it poured all over the driveway!!! :o
You live and learn... :D

The rollcage is going in at the moment, and following that the seat and harness. We've got to produce a GRP replacement panel for the sunroof too.
Then we can get the wiring, pull-cables and extinguisher piping sorted.

After some problems with the rollcage, the suppliers collected the car on Wednesday night from Cheshire. Fitted the cage and then returned it to us on Friday night at no charge!! :D The rollcage installation looked great. :)
Saturday was a wash out The garage is so full of stuff I couldn't get the car in to work on it, but the garage is so small it'd be too restrictive for most jobs anyway! I managed to reverse the car in and fit the boot spring hooks and the engine cover bonnet pins.
Sunday was spent visiting my three Mums.
At least it gave me the chance to collar my step-dad and we organised certain jobs like fitting the seat, replacing the sunroof, a harness mount, and a front battery tray. (He's Mr. Welder-Man)
Luckily, evenings are brighter for longer now. I managed to remove the rollcage and prepare the welds before painting each area in fetching blue smoothrite paint. It'll soon go back in!
I've got a list of jobs thats very -erm- long!
wish I could take some time off work, but that's not possible at the moment.
