I'm looking for a new Digital Camcorder, the DVD ones look impressive, but would like some recommendations, upto £700. Needs to have memory card slot comparable to my Panasonic NV-MX8
Thanks

I bought one of the first Sony DVD camcorders. Whilst it was excellent it didn't like vibrations, and I didn't have much luck using it for trackdays. I also found that you do need to use good quality 8cm DVD's, as cheap ones nearly always fail while finalizing.
I now have a Sony IP1E, which is excellent but the micro-mv tapes are really expensive, and have just bought the 5 megapixel Sanyo Xacti memory stick camcorder, and tbh I'm surprised how good the video is!

Yeah, I've been having a good look around today, it seems that mini DVD can be a little bit of a pain with regards to editting because of the non standard vob files produced (over 1gb) and you need a special version of Pinacle s/w to get round this. Plus the Sony DVD have no memory stick option.
So I looked at the Panasonic NVGS150B, stunning piece of kit, looks like I'm going Mini DV again, DVD just isn't there yet on camcorders.
Cheers
