Hi guys

Any body from MK or the surrounding area who would like to meet on the way leave a post here.

We shall meet off of junction 9 of the M1.
The Moat House hotel near the Markyate turn (a little way up the A5 towards Dunstable from J9) has been suggested or if it is easier there is a truck stop place next to the big roundabout off of J9 (and next to a Shell garage). This may be simpler?

As for times I wouldn't mind getting to Brands earlyish. I would guess for about an hour to an hour and a half from this meeting point, so if somebody wants to suggest a meeting time that would be good.

This will be my first meet and I am looking forward to it and to meeting some faces and cars http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif)

Cheers
Rikki

You know the area, so it's best you designate a meeting place.

Bear in mind, that the track is open til 5pm and the traffic on the M25 is bound to be ****e, so a real early start may not be advantageous.

Will see you on Friday whatever time you see fit.

Look forward to seeing you all on Friday AM!

Regards
Kurt

I am only spectating so it doesn't matter too much to me about the time but there may be some who want to join us that need to be there to sign in by a certain time. Lets see what other responses we have. Are you spectating ?

I'll only be spectating too.

IMHO an early start would be better, otherwise M25 doesn't start to clear until after 9:30/10 am.

Rikki

leave mk at 6am latest so meet at jcn 9 at 6.30 (give/take 5 mins)

if ok, meet at the truck stop as I'm sure I will manage to find that (from m1 south - turn left or right as you come of motorway?)

Any one from mk, if you want to meet at jcn 14 or 13 (both ok for me)at 6.10ish let me know.

If any one wants to swop mobile numbers so we don't miss each other e.mail me

OK, for anybody that wants to meet at the truckstop off of M1 J9 at 6:30:

As you come off of the M1 southbound at J9, you will come to a small roundabout. Turn right on to the A5 (towards Dunstable/Markyate). You will quickly come to another large roundabout. Go straight over here, still on the A5. The truckstop is a couple of hundred yards on the right before a Shell garage - you will see the artics there.

Feel free to email me to exchange Mobile numbers. (Simo check your mail).

Cheers

Is that a 'meet us there' at the truck stop or 'meet us there at Brands'? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

25 October 2000, 14:05
Sure Jonathon, how many are you expecting?

Is that off J23? Is there services there?

Let us know the details. I guess we'dd be passing there about 6:45ish (does that sound about right Simo?)

Jonathan
25 October 2000, 14:26
Me at the moment, but it might be worth posting a South Mimms time. Some others are bound to be coming past.

That sounds fine Jonathon. Say about 6:45am. In the services? I have no time restrictions as I am only spectating but I am happy to leave whenever, so if this doesn't suit any track people, then post a message.

Stef

Did your post mean that you are not going on the M25 or that you are but leaving early to miss the traffic?

Stef
25 October 2000, 14:52
I am but leaving early to avoid traffic.
I also need to get there to help sign everyone on, set the van up, etc.

Stef.

rikki

stef will be passing @ 5.45 ish Toooo early imho.

No problems with stopping @ s mimms but don't forget I am driving on track so don't want to be too late and end up in the 'm25 car park' http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Let me know what you want to do.

I'm also attempting to show my inability to drive on track. 6.45 might be cutting it a bit fine at South Mimms. 6.30 ?

Jonathan

kurtw
25 October 2000, 23:05
I may yet be tempted to do an early start.

We'll have to wait and see.

If I do, I'll catch up with you at S.Mimms - 6:30-6:45

Kurt

Rikki23
26 October 2000, 09:59
OK. To get to South Mimms by 6:30 we will need to get leave J9 by about 6:10

So if we aim to meet there (J9) at 6ish that should be about right. Then do a pick-up at South Mimms services at 6:30ish.

Does this sound OK?

OK so (hopefully) final details:

6am Truck Stop near M1 J9: myself, Phantom_Flan_Flinger (aka?) and Simo.

6:30am South Mimms Services: Jonathon and possibly Kurt if he catches us up (give us a ring if you want to know where we are on the way)

Possibly catch up with Stef and the tyre boys on the way round the M25.

Does this sound OK to everybody? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Rikki, PFF, Simon, Jonno.

Had a great time today. Thanks for the company. It was fun in the scooby convoy this morning - about 12 cars at one point.

See some of you on Sunday. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
