Thinking about one of these, can get one for around £230. Has anyone got any comments? Looks pretty good for the money and the reviews are good too. If anyone can suggest anything else for similar money I'd be interested too

Before buying any compact, take a look on www.dpreview.com (http://www.dpreview.com) and see what the start-up time is, and the shutter lag.

It's what put me off the larger Canon compact, (Powershot Pro 1), and onto a DSLR. (Nikon D70)
Having said that, the wife's Ixus isn't bad at start-up, but still has some shutter lag, esp in low light situations:(
