Well what a result!

Just had Motorpoint aftersales on the phone.

The warranty WILL cover us just as subaru did, there is NO limit on claims either number OR value

They will also allow us to service according to UK standard, NOT malta's, so 10-12k instead of 9-9.5k

WE ALSO CAN FIT PPP OR POWERCHIPS :luxhello: :eek2:

CAN I GET A w00t?? YEAH!

I will be getting it in writing pretty soon (from John Hudd)

If motorpoint offered this to everyone including new purchasers then they would have another buyer for a new Impreza here.

sooo chuffed. i asked for £200 back to cover my underseal/locking wheel nuts etc, but they said no chance- fair enough, we saved £5000 and now have UK spec cars in all but name.

PPP here we come, oh and i can transfer my Private plate now too now i know i'm keeping it.

now i will be buying a lower grille, PPP when i next reinsure, and *maybe* a lower rear spoiler for my wagon.

Are the Dealers OK about supplying and fitting the PPP? should come from Prodrive, so IM shouldn't get the chance to stop it.

Did they say who was the 3rd party warranty company?

Don't think there doing it for new customers, my dad went to look at a new WRX this week and they said it only comes with 3 months warrenty and if you want any more than that you have to pay to extend it.

I have emailed Prodrive. they say UK dealer & prodrive are happy fitting PPP to ANY WRX.

it just invalidates foreign warranties, but if motorpoint say it is ok, then i'm well happy.

he said i could do PPP, or Powerchips, which he gave me a name & number for and quoted £600.

I rang local dealer to order a few things, and asked them about this IM warranty issue regarding Euro Imports..... there words were......
"all warranty work whether UK or EURO will be dealt with by Subaru Japan (Fuji Heavy Industries) not IM"

Has any one else heard this???

Just spoke to Motorpoint this morning, they confirm that they will honour the terms and conditions of the Subaru warranty and liase with Malta if any repairs are needed and will be confirming it in writing.
I asked about having the PPP fitted and he said that it would invalidate the warranty but he is going to ask Malta again if they would allow it.

Update.

Motorpoint has called back and said the he has just spoken to Malta and they said that that fitting PPP would invalidate the warranty.

But if I transfer the warranty to Motorpoints own warranty I could have it fitted, also I can service it at UK car intervals. He is going to send me all the details so I can decide which way to go.
