Just printed out a b/w pic and the colour of the print doesnt match the printed version. The colours on screen are serpia and the printed version has come out very olive.
Whats the best way to correct this, had a quick look at this but seems a lot of money

Is this the first time the colours are off? If not it could be a colour profile mismatch Paul. Try setting the colour profile of the printer to match the colour profile of the workspace in the program you are using to print the photo. Could also be an ink problem? We've had loads of problems with colours going off where I am working and we eventually nailed it down to the black cartridge being low on ink!

Hi Ya Frenchie
Its the first time ive noticed it to be honest. Ive just popped into Calumet and they reccomend Colourvision Printfix, but at £299.99+ vat i reclined their offer. I always use genuine ink cartridges and havent had a problem before.
Calumet reckon that you need to calibrate the printer and screen once a month to keep it spot on  , but i dont understand why it should change.
I`ll have a look at the settings youve suggested and see where i go from there.
Regards
Paul:)

How are you converting to B&W? I think there is more to it that just de-saturating the colour...
Not a lot of help I know but I did have an Action in PS to do it & it was a bit more complicated than you would have thought.

Hiya Dave
I convert using hue/saturation, check colourize and then fiddle with the setting until im happy.

Yep, that's the way I do it for screen shots. Never had any joy that way for printing though (not done a great deal of it though) Pretty sure there is more to it that that, also can't you get paper that is designed for B&W printing? Keep meaning to have a crack in Capture but never get round to it :)
