Hi All

Im trying to get to grips with a pic im doing and could do with some help on Photoshop or Paint pro x.

Its a fairley typical scenario- girl at dressing table looking in mirror and everything is in black and white ecept for her reflection which is in colour.

I know its all done with layers, but i cant work out how. If anybody knows the answer and would like to share it i would be very grateful!

Cheers

Paul:)

Click the 'Edit in quick mask mode' button then paint the area you want in colour.

Then return to normal mode and the area outside where you painted will have become a selection.

Now it is simply a matter of desaturating the selection to make the remainder of the image B&W.

Voila, all done ;)

EDIT - If you want to soften the edge, then use a softer brush when painting the edge of the mask.

Image>Adjustments>de-saturate then just paint the bit you want with the history brush.

As above can this be done in PS elements? Totally new to this so some basic instruction would be useful.

Here (http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/Photoshop-tutorials/Photoshop-Elements-tutorials) is a good place to start learning ;)
