ScoobyDoo555 08 May 2001, 00:51 Hi Tony,
Let's hope there's a better turn out than the Hereford Meet http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Not bothered really - just gotta be careful about Hallow - whinging barstewards... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
Are there any other pubs in the Worcester area that are any good - over by the motorway junction(s) J6/7?
How about setting up a BBQ? Makes it a bit more fun for the rest of the family too....
Or finding a pub with a decent beer garden / BBQ...... after all it IS Summer (ahem http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)
Dan
(Car's nearly fixed - back to its original splendour http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)
'ello all...
The date sounds good, but I get itchy when people mention Hallow these days!
I'll try and find a decent size venue that will accomodate us.
How does everyone feel about booking somewhere as a proper event, and organising numbers before-hand to ensure its worth it?
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Scoobs take over a pub...NICE!
Dan - Looking forward to seeing you and yours again.
Tony - Ignore some of the disparaging comments made on the BBS about driving at the 'Coombe. I watched you closely, and thought you made a fantastic job of it. You started off quick, and improved gradually without 'coming a cropper. Smooth style too - I'd be a passenger wiv ya anytime, laddo. (Of course I'd have to bring petrol). Well done... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif
Dan,
Totaly agree barby near river and pub http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif
Squizz,
You took your time walking the circuit thought you were coming round with me on the next run http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
Do you know in worcs PUB for barby food and river(scooby friendly)
Tony
Matty B 08 May 2001, 23:03 Good ideas lads, but have you noticed that the 27th is Bank Hol weekend, AND the Monaco Grand Prix http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif
Its best for the 27th tho' as the following weekend is no good for me either - not so glam as Tony's calendar tho' http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Mattyb
We could make it the 20th if you wish just bunged a date out to test the water.
What about the pub by the layby just 3 miles before Worcs we need PUB GRUB,BARBY, RIVER and TELLY just in case we go for the 27th http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Bring all the kids except Squizz who's still practicing, http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif ought to try it with Karen sometime though http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
Tony
20th or 27th, don't really mind.
The Monaco GP is normally decided in qualifying so I'll record it if the meet is on the 27th.
I'm also against going to Hallow after last time, but don't no where else to suggest.
"What about the pub by the layby just 3 miles before Worcs" What road Tony ?
At the recent Northern meet over 60 scoobs took over a pub carpark and the surrounding roads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jon
Jon,
On the Hereford Worcs road in-between Worcs and Brandsford. I think theres a river near by so wecan play Poo sticks http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
I think we should stick with the 27th all in favour say Aye http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Dan,
Very disappionting turnout at Hereford http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif and all the scoob's I see around town, there loss http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
Tony

Not me for a change! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Nice - WE'll be there... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif
Matty B 09 May 2001, 22:09 I'll do a Schuey and tape the "race" so it's AYE from me http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Tony didn't mention the road 'cos its the one he said he nearly lost it big time once in his scoob and he can't bear to re-live the saga again http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Thanx to Richard A for being soooooo assertive http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif
IWatkins 09 May 2001, 23:46 Guys (and Squizz http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
The Fox is almost within staggering distance http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Or alternatively is at the end of my 'special stage' cut through from the Worcester/Malvern road when I head to Hereford.
I'll try to get down and see you lot, even though you didn't come and see me on the Powerstation/Litchfield Imports stand at Castle Coombe (sob, sob).
I'm sure they have a big telly in there, so maybe we could watch the grand prix (if you like) over lunch.
Parking is OK there (not sure if it is bigger than the Crown), and last time I was there, it was children friendly. In fact, I seem to remember it has one of those Captain Coconut thingys there (Kids playhouse), but you would have to check.
Cheers
Ian

We did come to find you! After looking around the GT4 owners cars, without much luck I spotted you talking to a punter at the Powerstation stand. Didn't wanna interrupt.
(I must get around to visiting powerstation when I've talked Karen into buying our track-day Legacy Turbo! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif )
"Captain Coconut" ?!?! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif
Beer + Grown Men + Kid's climbing apparatus = http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

I'm sorry mate, you should have just come and interupted, I was probably talking the punter to death and would have welcomed the interuption http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Powerstation ? If you are not doing anything this Saturday, pop down. I'll be there most of the day as I have a few jobs to do. Bring Karen so we can all work on her to let you have an thingy, a whatsit and a watchmaflip http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Cheers
Ian
Simon Insull 10 May 2001, 10:56 Sorry guys and gals, but I won't be able to make the 27th as I am off to Scotland for a week on holiday.
See you all at the next one !!
Simon
[This message has been edited by Simon Insull (edited 10 May 2001).]
Might not be able to make it I might be in Landan.. cor blimey guv'na.. apples 'n pears etc....
Ian - We may just take you up on that. I'm having some new Toyo Proxes T1s put on the car Saturday morning - It'd be a chance to put a few miles on them.
I'll see if I can talk her into it... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Keep an eye out for me.
Simon - Sorry to hear that. We'll get you roped in for the next one though!
Great a pub I have not been to yet!
Plenty of interesting ways to get there, especially if your travelling on the A449 Worcester to Malvern Road.
Must get to powerstation soon as I think my geometry is out after my "flying incident".
Had the bumpsteer done last year.
See you on the 27th,
Jon
IWatkins 10 May 2001, 21:26 Squizz,
Easy mate, tall Karen that your getting tyres in the morning, then you are taking her shopping in Cheltenham in the afternoon (good shops in 'nam).
Fail to mention Powerstation until you actually get there http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Cheers
Ian
Matty B 10 May 2001, 21:33 Sqizz
hope you're not paying too much for your Toyo's - I can recommend them for wear as well as grip- got mine from Malvern at just over £400 for a set all in, (last year.) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Mind you, any tyre is ok after tonite on the M5 crawing at 15mph home http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
IWatkins 10 May 2001, 21:38 Matty,
Was that at DTE up on the top in Malvern ? I'm sure they stock the Toyo's but never been in there.
You still using the M5 ? Find the B-roads, use the force http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif. I haven't been on the M5 in weeks, what with all the roadworks southbound of Worcester. I've been rediscovering the delights of the A38 all the way to Cheltenham http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Cheers
Ian
Matty B 10 May 2001, 22:05 Ian,
yes it was in DTE, and someone there (wife of the boss?)had a CLK or SLK Merc booted with them http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
They did a good deal - better than DTE at Kidderminster and my local guys in Droitwich, and the mechanics luv Scoobs http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
I use the M5 up to Jcn 1 so don't get the chance to use the "proper" roads http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
PS I was at 'Coombe too, but didn't know you from Adam, so apologies if I stopped and didn't chat.
See you @ The Fox? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Cheers guys
James http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Ian - We should be there around noon, I'd imagine.
For all those that went to the Rally Action Day...
Fox sounds good to me, although haven't been there for years.
I too agree with schuey and will tape the GP convoy of Monaco
Apolgies to the Black Scooby (if you read this) that followed me tonight I did not register you until I turned off by the Swan
John
Hey guys and gals, what is the best way to 'The Fox' from Brum?
Thanks
James http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Ian - Karen's fine about our trip to Powerstation... Just remember to sell her on the Legacy idea, and I'll seeya right for a drink on the 27th! We'll be bringing Fizz (Darren) with us...He'll wanna discuss MY01 tuning options with ya. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Actually, talk Karen into buying that Audi RS2 if you guys still have it...WOW. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
MattyB - Thanks for the Toyo tip at DTE... I actually got mine for £383 via a friend at Halfords who works in the Ripspeed franchise. (He met us at Strensham in a red Calibra). But I'll not trust their nut-monkies on fitting them!! I've got another trusted contact to do that. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

I'm not quite sure where it is but it should be along the A449 somewhere, right guys? Otherwise Email me, (from profile) and I'll reply with my Mobile number in case of trouble. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
IWatkins 11 May 2001, 10:32 The Fox, Bransford is actually on the A4103 which is the Worcerster-Hereford road. If you dig out a road atls that shows this road, look at the Worcester end of the A4103 and work back towards Hereford. Find Bransford itself then work slightly back towards Worcester. Where the A4103 crosses the River Teme, that is where the Fox is. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Squizz/Fizz/Karen,
If you do come down to PS tomorrow, note that PS tends to close at around 3pm on Saturdays (if they can get away). Not sure if the RS2 is available still, but I'll find out. Think Karen can handle a left-hooker ? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Cheers
Ian
IWatkins 11 May 2001, 13:24 ..and the reason he moved so quick was that he thought he had £1400 in cash in his jacket. It was only afterwards that he remembered he had transferred it to his trouser pocket http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
