View Full Version : Staffs get together?
JoeRazz 16 May 2001, 00:01 Hi,
I live in North Staffs but wouldnt mind giving MY99 a run out to South Staffs, just let me know when youve got some dates sorted out and ill be on my way http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
MichelleWRX1994 16 May 2001, 07:42 Hi,
I would love to meet more local Scooby owners who reside in Staffordshire, as I see lots of them and wave whenever possible.
Who generally organises things for Staffs area and when can the next one be?
Michelle.
Hi Michelle
There was recently a pub run, which I missed but would like to do another. In theory you could try Neil Micklethwaite - nam_info_sys@msn.com as he is/was events coordinater.
I have been thinking about organising a mini meet with the pub (near Lichfield) in mind. Only a quick blast, but there are some pretty good roads around Staffs.
Anyone interested?
p.s. What colour is your car? I'll make sure I wave!
Yep I am in staffs, I tend to go to a lot of the Derby meets as they are not a bad bunch of guys (but dont tell 'em I told you http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif ).
We had a meet Litchfield way a few weeks ago and filled the car park with scoobs http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif. The owner has a scoob, main reason for going http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif. Great pub and great night.
There are one or two scoobs I see everyday, some wave, some dont and some feel intimidated when I flash my lights at them http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif.
cheers
chrisp

I wave at Scoobys, but get some funny looks back at my Pug (other than ChrisP)!
Beer and cars, I'm game! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

skdewhurst 17 May 2001, 00:21 I am new to Scooby Meets but would like to be counted in on any in the Staffs area.
Treasure hunt sounds like a great idea to.
Neil Micklethwaite 17 May 2001, 09:22 Hi Michelle.
I am the SIDC Regional Organiser for Staffordshire.
Just down the road from you.
I am planning a treasure hunt at the moment and looking at a couple of drives in North Staffs and out to Wales.
Most of the events I have done have been orientated to the driving aspect ( Wales Run , prodrive Tour , Bill Gwynne attendances )
If it's a meet and greet style thing you want then I would gladly organise it.
Any other interested parties E Mail me and I'll get the wheels in motion.
Neil
I've had some thoughts and I reckon I have the beginnings of a route but not comprehensive by any means. Maybe we should get together one evening soon?
R
Depending on the date, count me in!

CharlieWhiskey 17 May 2001, 17:39 Did somebody mention a route? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
Just let me know when! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
How about meeting somewhere easily accessible, a bit of a drive about, then finish at a pub (Middle Bell, Barton-under-Needwood for instance) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Chris
Neil Micklethwaite 17 May 2001, 19:12 Rob
Give me a shout or email me and we'll get together.
I did promise you a drive some time back.
Sounds sweet. Yeah, I do remember asking for the drive http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/redface.gif)
That's the pub sorted then, and I've got the perfect starting point in mind (easy to get to, scoob friendly, picturesque etc)
Ooh, I'm getting excited now. Neil, I'll drop you an email tomorrow.
R
Michelle, when will your scoob be back on the road?
I'm currently thinking early June is most likely for this.
R
MichelleWRX1994 19 May 2001, 16:53 Hi there,
My Scoob won't be back on the road for a while, June is probably more realistic I haven't been given an exact time.
It would be great having a treasure hunt or something to meet up, then we can start planning big and adventerous things http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
I have been up with the Scottish bunch a few times, though I have yet to take my car on track at Knockhill.
Are you going to organise another trip to Prodrive any time???
Cheers,
Michelle.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and getting Scoob back on the road. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Neil Micklethwaite 20 May 2001, 09:35 Self and Robman planned / drove a little route ( 30-40 Miles ) to take in some picturesque spots / nice roads.
We plan on running it either midweek summer evening or Sunday morning and Pub lunch.
E mail me if you're interested and I'll stick you on a distribution list.
How about a simple Saturday/Sunday afternoon pub meet to kick it off. People can meet up and have a chat.
cheers
chrisp
MichelleWRX1994 21 May 2001, 07:01 A meet at the pub would be great http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
As I have no Scooby (still being fixed) and if a drive was organised, could I crash (wrong word!!!) be a passenger in someones Scooby?
I am definitely in on that. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
I am working night shift up until this coming Sunday, but am hopefully free the week after, so any takers?
Neil, could you add me to the distribution list please?
See you all soon, safe driving http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
MichelleWRX1994 21 May 2001, 07:02 p.s. What colour is your car? I'll make sure I wave![/B][/QUOTE]

Are you the blue MY01 who has waved a couple of times at me?
I have also seen a green Scoob with gold wheels.
A P reg white STI.
An RB5, though he didn't wave at me and looked rather funny at me as I passed him on the Stone one way system.
There is also a P1 residing around Stafford, I have seen it in the Guildhall car park several times. Are you here???
Neil Micklethwaite 21 May 2001, 09:39 chrisp - We are looking at an hours drive then the Scoob Pub perhaps sunday morning for sunday lunch ( after all thats the time for worship ). Will keep you posted when we arrange a date.

Mellow Yellow ! 21 May 2001, 20:26 OK peeps, can I invite myself, should have my new 18's and brakes on by then, let me know when and where and I'll be there http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
P.S. If anyone wants to be a passenger, holler out !
I dunno, invite one P1 and they all come!!!
Route's sorted BTW, thanks to my poor car sick missus who did a top job of interpreting and scribbling down my random shouts ("Should I put - it's like a f*$%ing rollercoaster then dear?")
Top fun!

If it's a Sunday let me know, Lichfield's a bit of a jaunt midweek.
B.
Neil,
please stick my name on the DL (e-mail address in profile). Depending on the route, it should only be just up the road.

Mine's the Dark Blue MY01. X reg, I have seen a Y reg one recently as well. I have tried waving at other Scoob drivers but none seem to waive back. I will look out for you when you get your car back.
