Posted on behalf of James Mansfield, and going out to all the Midlands scoob drivers:

"At - the Race Way, West Brom
On - 19th of April
cost - £120 per team for a 2 hour endurance,
needed - 8 teams
I would suggest that 8 teams of 4 people, would be great, but you can have between 3
and 6 in a team. The start time can be flexible, I was thinking some time
about 8 to 8-30 would be good as we can then go to the pub afterwards.

The track is 350 meters long, including a 100 ft tunnel and cross over.
They are sending maps etc...

We could do with people letting us know asap as I have to confirm the
reservation by next wednesday 4th. Each team needs to send a deposit of £60
asap.

James"

For anybody thinking about doing this, it's BRILL. I did the Endurance race last year for Cancer Research, and had the time of my life (nearly as much fun as the Scoob http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)

Count me in Squizz, but only if there are enough people....

Pub-wise, by the RaceWay, hmmm, bit of a SH1thole to be honest. The whole immediate surrounding area too.
At J1 roundabout, if we head East towards Dudley, 2 roundabouts later, there's a pub called the Ridgeacre. Nice big car park, nice area too - I live there http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

However, if we head West, you'll be going into Handsworth - in that case, to quote the vicar in 'Blazing Saddles', "You're on your own....."

South of J1, Smethwick - same deal.

The Ridgeacre is a Brewers Fayre - so not bad food too.

What do you all think?

Hmmm, number aren't good, even so...

Maybe we'll have to postpone and do something more local with fewer numbers.

The "March Hare Inn" has got a great outdoor track.

Can't make the 19th.
The March Hare track is OK, a bit short and not that good for overtaking.
Lots of sideways action in the bottom corner.

Squizz,

sounds very interesting - although last time i went indoor carting (Reading) - for some reason my power-to-weight ratio was not as good as the rest?

Are there any lardy-carts (and three wheeled ones for Harj) http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

mb

p.s.

And maybe some hump-back bridges for Schuey!
