Just a precautionary note, wouldn't feel right if I didn't share it with you.

Last week, the mum of a friend of my girlfriend was in Meadowhall, when they found a wallet. It was packed with over a grand (Not too unusual given the time of year granted).

They decided to do the honest thing and hand it in. They then noticed a man of foreign appearnace frantically looking for something. Upon asking him if he had lost something, he said he'd lost his wallet. They got him to describe it, and true enough it was this guys wallet they had found. He then offered them both £100 for being honest, but because the wallet had found it's rightful owner, they said it is was ok, and declined the offer.

When they were walking away, the gent tapped them on the shoulder, and just said, "whatever you do, don't come to Meadowhall in the 2 weeks running up to christmas". This freaked them out, so they went to report it to security, who scoured the cctv, but found no trace of him.

It might be nothing, but they way he said it put the fear of god into them.

Make your own conclusion, but I just wanted to share it with you.

Can't help thinking this has been posted soooo many times before for numerous other locations/times - urban myth.

Like I said, you make's your own decisions in life, but this is 1st hand information, not from some friend of some bloke down the pub.

If something happend, and I knew, but didn't say, I would feel terrible. Hopefully nothing will happen.

TBH you'd have to be stupid anyway to go to Meadowhall in the 2 week run up to Christmas - won't see me within miles of the place

First hand? Mum of a friend of a girlfriend sounds the same as friend of some bloke down the pub to me. I've yet to hear this told by someone who actually saw and spoke to the 'Foireign-looking' (How foreign-looking? Middle-Eastern? Mediterranean? Aboriginal? Chinese? Japanese? Inuit? Indian/Pakistani? Jamaican? Scandinavian? American?) gentleman in question.

I heard exactly the same story two weeks ago in the gym - only difference was the shopping centre was further up north. Oh, and the guy wasnt bothered about the large amount of money, it was some important paperwork he had in the wallet
