CharlieWhiskey 25 May 2000, 12:06 Me!
Although I haven't been in it yet it sounds great and is nearly as close as RobMac!
Can we have a bit of a drive around the lovelly LOCAL roads, I don't mean anything as involved as the Tamworth do, perhaps Akira and some other of us locals could come up with a short South Derbyshire/Shepshed circuit before lunch?
I Will Be there (cos Dave Is my buddy and I can stay at his the night b4)
Jim (Red 1993 WRX) (For Sale)
I have just spoken to Dave and twisted his arm into free coffee anytime after 9am
I am also trying to sort out availability of bacon sarnies http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif At present we will have to pay a nominal amount per sarnie I reckon about 50p.
Dave is also a scooby owner and I may (if I have sold mine )be there in an RB5 just to p**s him off but not too much cos bacon sarnie price may go up !!!!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Jimb0

Need to check my diary...
If I can I will turn up, but I may have sold the Scoob by then. If so will turn up in my P1.
Nah, only kidding, next car will be a Scoob, but saying nothing more for now...
Rob.
Sounds good to me Chrisp! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Another entry in the Scooby Diary.
A quick SPIN http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif around the local countryside is a good idea Charlie.
Cheers
Chris
p.s. are your 17's on the car yet?
[This message has been edited by Akira (edited 25-05-2000).]
17's go on tomorrow (friday) hopefully http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif. Not sure about the colour though as I picked from an colour chart in a dark(ish) garage. could be any colour I know its some sort of metallic Honda grey http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif.
I post a piccy on my site when they are on.
cheers
chrisp
CharlieWhiskey 26 May 2000, 14:53 Akira
Not bothered going for the 17"s, I tried a mates scoob with them on and was not impressed with tramlining and the cats eyes rattling my teeth http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Guess it comes down to personal taste, but the 16"s will be going on on Monday, off MarkL's MY99 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Can't afford much more till I've got rid of the Cav' [which strangely has developed an ABS fault the day it was advertised in the paper!] http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif
Any ideas for a 'spin'?
Akira bet you dont recognize them now http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif esp on a red car http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif.

Charlie, I can relate to your point of view regarding the 17's. Enjoy your 16's and more driver friendly handling. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

CharlieWhisky - what was the Cav, where did you sell it and how much did you get?
Trying (unsuccessfully) to offload mine so I can afford some goodies for the scoob.
r
CharlieWhiskey 28 May 2000, 21:50 It was a blue H 91 5 door SRi with 65k,8 months test but only a months tax left so I was a bit desperate to get rid (and to aid the cashflow situation http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Got £1500 cash off the first guy to see it, despite the ABS warning light being on and a fuel leak off the pump http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
A good deal for both sides I think?
Chris
Oh, It was in the local Rag, Derby Evening Telegraph (costs £32!, but gets it in for four nights - and 4 saturdays if it doesn't go- and includes the weekly freebie paper & Auto Weekly )
Response depends entirely on the weather, but the guy who bought it turned up in the rain, and there was a queue of three waiting to see it after him so I guess I could have got more but couldn't be arsed to bother.
Local rag is your best bet for cars of this age as it's not worth travelling too far.
Hope this helps!

I'm up for it as it will be my first meeting with fellow Scooby drivers.
Having been to Trent ( now Nottingham ) poly in the late eighties I can easily get to Ashby de la Zouch, but could do with instructions on how to get to the pub from the M/A 42.( Will be coming from Worcester. )
Hope to have the new? prodrive back box fitted by then.
CharlieWhiskey 30 May 2000, 19:27 Schuey: It's dead easy. The pub is on the old A453 as you will know it, which runs almost parallel to the A42 around there.
Come off the A42 at the Coalville/Ashby NORTH/Loughborough turn then take first left of the roundabout towards Ashby. 200yds later there is another roundabout, turn right onto what used to be the A453...? You then go round a long sweeping left hander before curving right onto a long downhill straight.
The Ferrers Arms is at the bottom of the hill on the left.
See ya there!
Chris
With me and "sad Dave" this only makes 8 so far.
Is no-one else interested in the quality of totty that he employs ??? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif
CharlieWhiskey 03 June 2000, 08:29 I think I'll pop in there tonight Jimbo, just to check the scenary http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
jase cooper 03 June 2000, 17:42 I'll be there
jase.
Etheridge-Bird 03 June 2000, 18:44 I would like to come along - get back from Le Mans 24 Hours on Monday 19th June (taking 4 friends for my stag weekend - getting married on 14th July).
1994 WRX currently having the following fitted after minortraffic indisrection (Honda Accord):-
Late style bonnet, 2000 bonnet scoop, 2000 bumber, P1 splitter, 2000 front grille, 2 x crystal headlamps (£444.00!!!!!!!!!) and clear indicators (all round).
WAYSIDERS 05 June 2000, 10:19 J1mb0,
Sad Dave told us about this meet last week at the Ferrers. Who's sorting out the route? PLEASE, PLEASE start from Breedon, Doctor's Lane - superb hillclimb with short straights and medium bends - but LOOKOUT! ends in a T-junction!!! Also suggest road from Ashby to Loughborough via Belton and back. Very little traffic and some of the best sweeping bends in the county.
We live just 1 mile from the Ferrers.
Keith (Sti5R)
As I said previously I live in Wolverhampton and don't know the area too well.
I also run a pub so I was hoping one of you local guys could sort route out cos I'm too firkin busy.
J1mb0
CharlieWhiskey 05 June 2000, 17:25 I'll give you a hand with the route if you like.
I was already thinking of the A6006 too and bits of the old A453. I know most of the roads around there, [escpecially since I got the Scoob http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif] but I don't know which one Doctors Lane is? Where does it go to?
Will start from and end at the pub so a circular route is needed. I've been round there a few times in the last fortnight and have some ideas.
Don't want to give too much detail away on here but how long/far do we want to go?
schuey 05 June 2000, 18:56 Thanks Chris.
I remember the A453, but last time I drove on it, which was about 12 years ago, I had a 1.3 escort. Should be a bit more interesting this time!!!!!!
Jon
WAYSIDERS 06 June 2000, 08:51 Sorry to disappoint you, but the A453 has been ruined with all the Donington Airport developments. I mean traffic lights, 40 limits etc. Best avoided.
I'd be happy to offer some route advice - how about meeting up at my local (the Ferrers) with Dave? Most evenings free.
Email me if interested.
Does anyone know how many are coming?
Keith
Here is my bit - I will If required/have any interest from you guys try to arrange Dentmaster to turn up (I have at least three dents to master on mine).
If you can post your interest here I will contact them (if enough interest) and try to make them come on the day. I reckon that for them to turn up we need at least three "DINKED" cars.
Still can't help Charlie Whiskey with route etc can somebody voulenteer?????
Etheridge-Bird 06 June 2000, 17:03 j1mbo - do you run the pub in Wombourne with a red WRX outside? If so I pass by most days and think the car looks great
E.B. Yes that's me I run It (for my sins)
Is yours the blue one that comes past in the mornings and gets me out of bed (scoobysport exhaust)and sounds grrreat.
Pop in any time for a chat.
Are you going to go to Dave's ??
I would have gone in convoy but I am going up the night before (beers/food and top totty waitress watching) OOPS! my wife just walked in.
Or are you the other S reg that comes here on a Sunday Lunch ????
CharlieWhiskey 06 June 2000, 19:47 Waysiders: have emailed you.
I agree about the Airport developments but it's OK from Donnington down to Ashby as long as you slow down for Breedon on't Hill http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
I have just sussed who you are E.B.
You have green R reg parked at prestwood animal sales?garden centre type place and Were at my pub last night??? You should have said hello.
Everytime there is another scooby on my car park I play the who drives a car like this game and usually can work it out but couldn't work it out last night (if it actually was you) - J1mb0
