View Full Version : FINAL UPDATE ON RR SHOOTOUT - 27TH
Just to update everyone on the final details and list of runners.
Everything is still on for 27th May @ Powerstation in Cheltenham!
Can everyone (who is taking part, at least) arrive at 9.30 prompt - because of the amount of cars running, I don't fancy being there until 7.00pm. Harj and myself will
get there a bit earlier, just before 9.00.
I have emailed REDLINE just to tie things up.
The carpark across the road should be available again for runners and spectators.
I will bring forms with me for every person to fill in, much the same as the VFM day -
just so basic info can be gathered for mag and general info.
Each run will have two printouts, one for the owner & the other for Paul Strong!
- with possibly one for chosen feature cars in mag! Each person can then come down to
me in the office with the printouts so I can take details.
The runners are:-
BOB ILES
DANNY FISHER
CHRIS BROWN
IAN CAVILLA
STEVE MCCOULLOCH
ADAM MESSULAM
PAT
ANDY HALL
GILBERT COCHRANE
ANDREW TANG
JON
DAVE HARRIS
LEE CHRISTIE
ROGER LAIT
SHAUN
HARJ
SUNIL PATEL
TIM WHITESIDE
GAVIN PEAKE
PAUL WILSON
IAN GRATTON
JASE COOP
PAUL WALKER
Due to the fact of lack of sponsorship, there will be no prizes for best/worst figures and guessing the closet, but it will form part of the mag feature!
There are still a few places left, so if anyone else wants to run please post on this thread!
Shaun.
Bye the way i'm bringing my PSX2 with me......but it's £1.00 ago!!!!!!!!!
Craig H 16 May 2000, 19:41 Stick me down if theres places left. Could do with seeing what mine doesn't produce.

Rannoch 17 May 2000, 16:01 Shaun,
I will take a place if there is one - I need to redeem my poor show last weekend!
Rannoch
Rannoch,
Lets hope youve had some professional help with the mapping this time http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif Will be good to see the results!
Harj...
Rannoch,
Did you get the email?
Scatman.
Rannoch 19 May 2000, 12:30 Harj,
I'm sure you know that I did have professional help with the map http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/tongue.gif - the car is enormously powerful on slushy days that are three degs celsius with an atmospheric of 0.9odd bar. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
It's amazing how high pressure and temp sap it away. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif It's a problem with any sort of fixed map - they work best at the atmospheric condition they were mapped at. Or you change it daily! Or get a Unichip http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Quite simply too much fuel Scoobs don't like it too rich - just enough not to knock - solved by Sat afternoon but not enough time to rerun.
Shaun,
money where mouth is time of course - yes I did get your email - thanks - will post the cheque.
David

IWatkins 23 May 2000, 21:32 Hi All,
I will be coming along to watch/help out on the day. If anybody doesn't know how to get to Powerstation and is coming down the M5 (Southbound), I'll let you follow me in if you like.
Get off at Junction 10 (A4019 Cheltenham). At the end of the slip road you join the road into Cheltenham. There is a lay-by on your left.
I will be there for a few minutes, but will leave at 9.15am on the dot. White GT4 (if you can stand following it http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)
If anybody needs a guide to Powerstation from this direction, let me know here, and I'll wait for you.
Cheers
Ian

To help me prepare some of the web pages for Saturday and to save people bothering with shouting details at me while the dyno does its thing, could anyone intending to run their car email me with details of their car, mods, type of fuel used and approximate mileage.
If the mods aren't common ones, as much detail as possible would be useful. Also, please confirm if it's OK to include your name and email address on the site.
Many thanks,
Paul.

Paul
igratton 25 May 2000, 09:42 Paul...
yes we'll meet up and travel down together.
Chris and Jase need to decide on a suitable time cos I haven't got a clue how long it takes to get there.
I'll watch the post and go with whatever you guys decide.
See you all saturday.
Ian
I'll get myself to Tamworth M42 Services for 7.45 - 8.00am on Saturday morning!
Ian & Jase it's best if we meet up at Tamworth to save on stop/start time.
Cya Saturday
Chris
Midland Posse,
Tamworth services 7-45 - 8-00, leaving no later than 8-15. Should get there by 9-15, 9-30. Could someone please plan a route to Powerstation once we get to Cheltenham as i haven`t got a clue where it is.
Tamworth services Junction 10 M42.
See you all there!
Paul
DavidBrown 26 May 2000, 09:57 here's directions.
(Same post as in General Questions forum...)
The results of today's dyno day at Powerstation are now on the dyno site (http://dyno.scoobynet.co.uk). Graphs will be added across the weekend.
On the whole it was a successful and enjoyable day. A couple of cars had problems which stopped meaningful figures being produced. Particularly worrying was the 22B Type UK with no modifications that started detting around 4,500 rpm.
There are some incomplete (and probably incorrect) details from today's runs. Could owners please let me know the missing car mileages, email addresses, fuel used etc. Thanks.
Paul
