I'm re-fitting a 1960s bathroom. Not being a professional bathroom fitter, I'm looking to simply replace the existing layout with modern equipment.
Before I start, I want to be able to isolate all supplies. The chances are that all the pipework is imperial. The water pipes measure 15.2 (or 15.3)mm (most are painted.
My question is will 15mm ball valves (B&Q) fit on these old pipes?
Similarly, will I exprience any problems fitting modern brassware?

I suspect the bath pipes (currently inaccesible) are NOT 22mm! Will I have any problems there?

Thanks,
Dave Skye

You shouldn't.

You will need to scrape all the paint of the end of the pipe. If you can cut a small piece off and take it to a plumbers merchant - they are more helpful than B & Q, these will give you the correct fitting to change it to metric and away you go.
