Question Help re: Removing MY05 Stereo Surround

Having real trouble removing the new shape stereo surround so I can fit a multichanger. Have been able to prise the top away from the dash but whatever is holding it in at the bottom below the aircon/heater ***** just won't budge. I don't want to apply too much pressure, break the fitting then find it's held in by 2 hidden screws!
Any advice?
Steve

so is it a Clarion..? The dealer insists it's not a "rebadged Kenwood" on the MY05 as it say in the FAQ (which is why I asked).

Standard WRX stereo (MY05) is a Kenwood GX-401EF2 (single CD, cassette and tuner). Picture lifted from eBay (cheers!)

brilliant thanks. Now that I know what it is, I suspect it is soon to be replaced - although it does now make me dubious about buying another kenwood hank(DDX7025) Thanks again.

I presume this works for the MY04 STi too? Pondered this over the last weekend but couldn't fathom it. Never mind I did manage to hide my Road Angel wire so all was not lost. Looks like I'm fixed for this weekend coming.

Very useful thread, thanks.

Max

Edited to add just seen other threads and this isn't the same as a MY04! bugger.

Of course, you've scanned all the posts in the FAQ for info like this?
