Some were built as one complete footing for both (house and garage - Trench / slab) and some have a seperate slab for the garage. Check with your local building control office for original drawings (if any) otherwise you will have to dig an inspection hole to determin depth and see if they are acceptable. Also depending on when it was built, the footing may not be deep enough anyway for current building code regs. Cheers Del as said above correct ... if your house is modern one eg 1990+ you should be ok as spec for building above should be allowed for.. as said dig small hole down beside foundation untill you find bottom anything 1 metre or over should be ok.. check with building control... |
