View Full Version : Car Insurance......
Could anyone give me some ideas of Insurance Companys that specialise in performance cars, or that people have had decent quotes off in the past, I'm having a happy day on the phone talking to faceless idiots!!!!....apologies to any-one who happens to work in a call centre!!!!
Thanx Sue
DrEvil 25 June 2001, 00:25 Sue - try greenlight, I don't have the contact details to hand, but I think its a UK wide 0800 number or similar... ring 192.
Also, you'd be better posting in General or Insurance...

MichelleWRX1994 25 June 2001, 14:11 Cool, another female Scooby owner excellent!
Sue, I use Privilege, good for me, give good discount on Tracker etc, though I have been informed they have stopped that now, not sure.
Try them, they seem very popular.
See you on a meet sometime http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

starship impreza 26 June 2001, 22:26 Sue try A PLAN INSURANCE 0845 0711234

Steve Cranfield 27 June 2001, 10:09 Try CIA Insurance, they were the cheapest for me by thousands.
My renewal came through from Frizzell today and it's gone up a tiny bit to £555. That's 60% PNCD + wife as named driver. So much for the 25% hikes talked about in the press! And I had a >£10k claim in the last two years.

£555 where do you live outer hebrides with no other cars on the road. I wish I could get lower than £1k with both myself and wife FNCB on policy

I live in Ipswich, just a remote but less sheep.

Jo Peters 27 June 2001, 16:12 Hi Sue
I am insured with Frizell also (I'm a member of CSMA). Female, aged 34, full ncb which is protected, Cat 1 alarm, GU postcode & cost is £552. Also had a good quote from Adrian Flux.

Michelle - have been a Scooby owner since Feb. 2000 - wouldn't swap it for the world http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Thanx everyone for being so helpful...wouldn't expect anything less from Scooby owner/drivers lol
eventually went with Privilige for £588..slightly better than the £980 originally quoted to reinsure!.incidently Adrian Flux were the next best, followed by Egger Lawson
Think this is 1 occasion where knowledge is power..oh and talking of power, Privilige are very understanding about mods!!!!
Thanx again
Sue

When I've been getting quotes recently, Priv. said no discount for a Tracker type thingie. Hmm, I spend £200 to £500 to make my car easier to recover if it's nicked but don't benefit on the insurance? Something not right there me thinks!
