Hi folks.
I've just replaced my aged Kodak point and shoot camera with a slightly more sophisticated Fuji S5600 DSLR-type. Other than previously taking quick snaps and thinking about what I want from my shots, I'm a relative newbie when it comes to photography but being a perfectionist I want to understand and utilise the features of my 'beginner to serious amateur' camera... so I can shift away from always using the AUTO setting and get a bit more involved.
Whilst the S5600's manual is good at telling me how to use the features, it doesn't come with any 'why you would' hints and tips, e.g. scenarios when you'd play with apperture size and shutter speed.
If anyone knows of some very good on-line or hard-copy material which can 'teach' a newbie the concepts of photography then I'd be interested to hear from you. Granted, there's a good few books out there but I'd like to hear from folk who've tried and tested and can make a good recommendation.
Cheers all.
