View Full Version : Photo Competition Round 21 'Time' Entries
flat4 13 November 2005, 20:24 The theme for round 21 of the photo competition is 'Time'.
A nice open ended theme, there's the obvious and the not so obvious, so should be interesting to see what people come up with.
Entries only in this thread! discussion here (http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?p=5178364#post5178364) please
Rules (and please note that I WILL NOT be including images that break any of these within the voting thread):
1. No image will be greater than 800 pixels along its longest side.
2. Image overall will not exceed 120kb (defined as 122,880 bytes :) )
3. Image must have been taken within the competition period, which is from 14 November 2005 to 14 December 2005.
4. Each submitter can change their posted image at any time (using edit function) up to the closing date for submissions which is midnight on 16 December 2005
5. Maximum of three (3) images per submitter, per competition.
6. Digital manipulation is permitted in order to correct technical issues such as dust or noise on the image. Sharpening, levels, contrast and colour adjustments are allowed. It is not permitted to add or remove elements of the image or to apply digital 'effects'.
7. Image must be hosted so that it appears correctly in the competition thread and must remain so for the period of the competition including voting. Any images that do not appear correctly won't poll may votes, obviously.
8. Image must be titled but not on the image itself. I.e. some bold text naming the image should be posted at the same time as the image itself. In addition, any details of the image itself should also be posted (this is a learning exercise after all). E.g. EXIF data or maybe just aperture, shutter speed, equipment used.
9. There will be no posts in the competition thread other than those for the posting of competition images. All discussion should be held in other threads.
10. There are no judges, only votes from Scoobynet members, and it's their collective decision which is final.
11. Images will meet the requirements of the ScoobyNet T&Cs
12. Winner gets to choose the theme for the next round.
Best of Luck :)

http://www.highlander68k.co.uk/GL2Y7217.jpg
I'm sure the pyromaniacs out there will appreciate this one - Had a few bits of wood to burn, so thought I would get a fire lit in the back room ;) I took about 20 pictures and chose this one.
Canon EOS 1D Mk II, f=9.0, tv=1/125, ISO=1600
Taken in Shutter Priority mode. I used the high ISO to enable me to get the shutter speed and aperture just right. I didn't want to get too close to the heat, so use a 70-200 lense, with IS turned off.
Shot in RAW, adjusted the colour temperature slightly, resized and that's it.
